• Le Morne - The Le Morne Brabant hiking trail offers nature enthusiasts and adventurers an exhilarating hiking experience at the island’s southernmost point. This hike, lasting between three to four hours, is led by professionals with EFR/WFA certification.

The 6 km trail begins in the morning. The trail’s base is generally flat and wide, with signboards making it easy to navigate. Some paths are mostly shaded and not too physically demanding. Access to the mountain’s second part is only possible with authorized guides.

As you progress, you’ll find yourself in the mountain’s dry and rugged terrain, which can be quite challenging. The heat will increase, so it’s recommended to bring a sun hat or cap and water. It’s also important to be well-equipped with sunscreen and sturdy trekking shoes due to the uneven tracks.
  As you advance, you’ll encounter a massive basalt rock peak dotted with caves that once sheltered runaway slaves. You’ll need to climb a rocky hill with equipment provided by the guides, which can be quite a challenging experience. As you gradually ascend to the summit, you’ll easily spot the large metal cross marking the highest accessible point. Take this opportunity to marvel at the breathtaking views of Ile aux Benitiers, Le Morne beach, and the stunning surrounding areas.
