- Seven Magic Mountains - Located in Ivanpah Valley at the southern end of Las Vegas Boulevard, Seven Magic Mountains is an art installation by Swiss artist Ugo Rondinone. It was commissioned and funded by the Art Production Fund and the Nevada Museum of Art. As one of the largest land-based installations in the U.S. in the past forty years, it attracts 325,000 visitors each year.
- Beehives - The Beehives are sandstone formations showcasing nature’s unique designs and are a prime example of geologic cross bedding. These grooved lines, running in various directions, represent different layers of silt deposited over time, indicating the angle of wind or water movement during deposition. Cross bedding is common in sand dunes, beach deposits, and river sediments. A short path meanders through rocky dunes with views of the Muddy Mountains in the distance.
- Atlatl Rock - An atlatl (at’-lat-l) is a tool for launching a spear, typically involving a short cord wrapped around the spear to enable rotation when thrown. Ancient Indians used these weapons, depicted in the petroglyphs at Atlatl Rock. This area features remarkable petroglyphs that are a must-see.
- Valley of Fire Visitor Center - Offers information, books, souvenirs, and exhibits about Valley of Fire and its surroundings. The exhibits cover the geology, ecology, prehistory, and history of Valley of Fire.
- Seven Sisters - Located in Valley of Fire State Park, Seven Sisters is a collection of seven tall, red, eroded boulders set in the sandy desert. Originally part of nearby red formations, these rock towers remain after erosion stripped away the surrounding sandstone. Numerous “blow holes” hint at the eventual erosion of the towers, expected to occur in several hundred years.
