Constructed in 1913 by French architects, this three-story manor house features red bricks and local white stone, blending European and Azerbaijani traditional architectural styles. Today, it houses the Museum of History and Regional Studies named after M.A. Aliyev, showcasing swords, shields, utensils, books, household items, and other fascinating exhibits.
- House Museum of Hazi Aslanov - This museum, dedicated to the Hero of the Soviet Union, prominent military commander, and Major General Hazi Aslanov, was inaugurated on May 9, 1969, coinciding with Azerbaijan’s Victory Day. The museum’s first director was Khaver Aslanova, H. Aslanov’s wife. In 1983, the museum’s exhibition was expanded and renovated. The exhibition comprises five rooms. In 2011, the museum underwent a complete renovation. It consists of five sections and rooms. The first room, an ethnographic room, reflects the environment of his birth and death, with items belonging to H. Aslanov’s mother, donated by his sister Asiya Aslanova. The second room is dedicated to his education and military service. The third room focuses on the battles for Moscow and Stalingrad (1941-1943). The fourth room highlights the battles for Primorye and Belarus (1944-1945). The final room is a commemorative hall, preserving various gifts to the house, his battle attire from the day of his death, souvenirs, albums, and books.
- Mayak (Lighthouse) - Lankaran is a tranquil town on the Caspian Sea, known for its local green-tea industry. It was once famous for its fishing, native “Iron-wood” [a type of bog-oak that sinks in water], and the former prison that held Joseph Stalin captive when he stirred unrest among Baku’s oil workers in 1905.
- Lankaran Region - Visitors can enjoy a delightful hour or two exploring the tree-lined streets and bustling fruit and vegetable market, abundant with pomegranates, apples, pears, and lemons, which are local specialties at this time of year. Women in vibrant dresses and headscarves invite passersby to sample their goods as they navigate between the stalls.
