An unforgettable trek in the heart of the jungle - I truly loved the 3-day, 2-night trek.
From the moment we arrived in Bukit Lawang, the whole team took incredible care of us, with so much kindness and attention to every detail. They went above and beyond to make sure our stay was perfect.
We were warmly welcomed, we ate delicious meals, and we had the incredible pleasure of seeing the monkeys in their natural environment, a truly magical experience.
It was wonderful to reconnect with nature and enjoy the peacefulness of the jungle to recharge ourselves.
The staff were not only professional but also genuinely kind and thoughtful — seeing them sing and play music together was a heartwarming and unforgettable moment.
I highly recommend this agency, who organized everything perfectly from our arrival in Medan to our departure.
A big thank you to the whole team for making this adventure so special!

Unforgettable jungle experience! - We’re a family of five with kids aged 15, 13 and 10 and have just returned from the most amazing time in the jungle with Sumatra Orangutan trekking.
From start to finish, Dedek was unbelievably helpful in helping organise our trek, but also with advice and help with arranging other parts of our holiday. He was always prompt and very warm and friendly, quickly making me feel like I was messaging a friend! A level of customer service beyond any I’ve experienced in the uk!
Our jungle guides Nasir and Memet and super jungle-chef Sukit were completely brilliant and helped make our time in the jungle unforgettable.
Nasir and Memet were kind and patient, giving us plenty of time for viewing the wildlife. They had excellent guiding skills enabling us to see siamang gibbons, as well as the beautiful orangutans and taught us lots about these incredible creatures and their environment.
The children loved learning magic tricks in the evenings, singing trekking songs as we climbed and carving stones from the river. We all found it really interesting learning about life of people in Bukit Lawang, an education for the kids in realising how different life for children there is compared to their own.
And I must mention the food!! It was incredible, how Sukit managed to produce food that delicious on a single stove in the middle of the jungle is beyond me!
Although at the time we did find there were several challenges to trekking in the jungle, on leaving Sumatra, all five of us would undoubtedly put this magical part of our trip as the absolute highlight and definitely not an experience that will ever be forgotten!
A huge thank-you to all involved 😊

Unforgettable jungle experience - We really had an unforgettable adventure. When we did the first steps in the jungle, we were a little worried that there would be too many tourists, but soon the guides were looking for their own route and we were alone with our group. Of course there were more people when you saw an orangutan, but not always. Syaipul and Nata took great care of us, both during the trek and at the camp. Jerry, the cook, has cooked for us wonderfully. All three gentlemen made us laugh a lot, especially the last night with their magic tricks. The jungle uber back to Bukit Lawang was also a highlight.
Don’t expect a luxury in terms of facilities at the camp: everything gets wet and stays wet, but that’s part of the jungle experience.
Also the contact with Dedek went very well, with clear and fast response. Upon arrival we were very warmly received by the team.
Thanks again for the good care and the unforgettable experience.

Authentic trip with a very engaged crew - It was a fascinating trip into the jungle with a lot of interesting stories told by our guides. They worked really hard to make the trip as pleasant as possible for us and were always so cheerful, engaged and helpful. A big thanks also to the chef cook, who made delicious meals. It was totally worth it and I would go with this operator again if I ever come back for a longer 5-days tour!
PS: It is actually clear from the tour description, but those that expect glamping, comfort or just a warm shower might be wrong here. This is an authentic jungle adventure, no luxourius safari ;-)

Three days in the best jungle - We participated in a three-day jungle trek tour.
I was very impressed to meet orangutans, gibbons and so many other wildlife!
The guides were very professional and always looked out for safety, which made me feel safe in the jungle.
You can also enjoy plenty of delicious jungle rice and fruit along the way 🥭
The hotel and transportation arrangements were also very helpful thanks to the smooth response on WhatsApp!
This tour is really recommended for those who want to fully enjoy the nature of Sumatra ✨

The Good Place - If you're planning to enter the jungle, especially if it's your first time, there's no better team or place. From the very beginning you will encounter care and a welcoming, open atmosphere. You are safe with these guys, the jungle, this whole world of diverse animals and unusual plants, is their home. You can write for a long time about the delicious food they will prepare along the route and in camp, the knowledge of the surrounding culture and nature they will share with you. About the evenings with the sound of water, conversations and laughter! It's all due to the natural passion and love for their own place, the respect and care that allows them to share it.
Hugs and thanks to the best guides and guardians - to Nasir, Aripin, Ipin and Wahayu.

I recommend it was very good - Overall we were very satisfied with our three days and two nights jungle trek.
We were lucky enough to see many animals such as orangutans, gibbons, macaques, thomas leaf monkeys and even a superb Hornbill.
The conversations with Dedek, the agency boss, by Whatsapp were clear, he was super responsive and very professional. He answered all our questions about the trek and even more.
They picked us up at the bus station and dropped us off at our hotel although we didn't sleep in their establishment and ours wasn't really next door. They also offered to drop us off at the bus station several days after the end of the trek (because we are staying longer on Bukit Lawang ).
The food was very good and hearty. The guides were very attentive and attentive to everyone and nature. They were able to answer our questions about the different species we encountered (lifestyle, reproduction, diet, etc.)
Nevertheless, some negative points are noted although some are not the fault of the agency.
Although we were in low season, there were a lot of people in the forest, and it spoils the immersion a little bit. Almost everyone takes the same path and takes breaks at the same time and place. So we are rarely alone and it sometimes lacks calm (some tourists are unfortunately loud and disrespectful).
Nevertheless, I would like to make it clear that the camps of the agency where we stayed the nights were rather isolated from the others and that is very appreciable (other tents belonging to other agencies are "piled up" in some places)
Also globally we walked very little (about 7 km on the first day , 5 km on the second and barely 1 hour on the third day) and we stayed rather close to the village (we could even hear the mosque sometimes).
So we had the feeling to actually do 2 days of hiking and not much on the third day (the tubing lasts only 10 minutes and we came back to the agency at 2pm). Even if it meant not walking a lot on the third day and not doing a lot of tubing, we would have liked to enjoy more the river next to which we were settled to spend the night (which was a very nice place by the way).
These little things do not obscure the experience we had because it was still really magical to see all these animals free in their environment.
If it were to be done again, I would obviously go back through this agency but I think we would take at least 5 days to really get away from the city and too many tourists.
Thank you to Dedek and the whole Sumatra orangutan trekking team for this experience!
