Highlights
  • Strasburg - Stop at the farm where the Academy Award winning movie “Witness” was filmed. You will have a chance to tour the beautiful Amish farm which remains much as it was in the movie, interact with their many animals and possibly meet the wonderful Amish family who owns the farm. This is a completely private stop and not available to the public.

We will stop at a private and beautiful Amish home, where the kids make birdhouses. Witness Amish craftsmanship up close in the artisan stable and barn - and purchase a birdhouse if you like.

  • Paradise - Tour of an operating, private Amish dairy farm dating back to 1830’s
  • Amish Country - We will take a driving tour through beautiful Lancaster County farmland and learn about the history, culture, religion, and education of the Amish. We will see buildings associated with the very first European settlers from more than 300 years ago, covered bridges, 19th century mills, and more on our way to our first stop.
  • Strasburg - Stop at an Amish owned and operated creamery, where your ice cream is included, and the views are free too. This is ice cream as it should be… rich, fresh, and delicious!
  • Ronks - Shop where the Amish shop, not the tourists. Natural food stores are a staple for the Amish and we will go to an out of the way gem, for an up close look at this Amish run business.

Great tour with 3 kids! - Jamie was a fantastic tour guide. He arrived right on time and knew his stuff. The information shared was new for me and I thought I knew a fair amount about Amish folks. Bring shoes that can get a bit dirty and plan to get in and out of the van a few times.

Fully Immersed With The Amish - My husband and I enjoyed our morning tour with Dale. He is great about giving history of the area along with the background of the Amish. We were glad we picked this company over others. It was more intimate and gave us a lot of information. Thanks for a great and memorable tour.

Fully recommended tour - This was an amazing experience. We visited two amish homes and got to interact with several of the family members as well as their animals. We were also lucky enough to see one of them milking their cows. We also visited an amazing creamery and got some nice ice cream treats. You learn about the history and lifestyle of amish through true immersion. Fully recommended.

Information Abounds - Steve provided a wealth of background about the Amish people and happily answered a multitude of questions. We had brief exchanges with the Amish residents at all 3 of our stops, and they were lovely.

Unique Amish Immersion in Lancaster - "indeed" - I really enjoyed the tour guide Mikes dialogue of the history and personal insights of his current interactions with the Amish community. The van ride and communication devices were comfortable. Mikes respect for the Amish community was evident throughout the tour so we did not feel like we were gawking or interrupting the way of life when we were on the various stops at the peoples homes and work sites. The response of the folks that we interacted with were friendly and welcoming. It was a very pleasant experience and exceeded my expectations.

n unparalleled experience that offered not just a window but a doorway into the genuine essence of Amish culture - This Amish tour was an unparalleled experience that offered not just a window but a doorway into the genuine essence of Amish culture. For those seeking to understand and connect with the Amish community on a deeper level, this tour is a masterpiece of cultural immersion. It's a journey we will cherish forever, filled with memories of authentic encounters and newfound appreciation for the simplicity and depth of the Amish way of life. My only critique lies in the tour's singular focus on the positive aspects of the Amish lifestyle, without addressing some of the controversies and challenges inherent within this way of life. For instance, the experience of being LGBTQ and Amish is a significant issue, with the community's traditional values often clashing with the identities of LGBTQ individuals. Addressing these and other controversies would have offered a more balanced view and added a layer of authenticity to the tour. It would help to see the Amish way of life not just through rose-colored glasses but also through a lens that acknowledges its complexities and the challenges faced by those who might not fit the traditional Amish mold. The tour was an unforgettable experience that allowed us to connect with and understand the Amish community's way of life on a deeper level. However, a more nuanced discussion on the diverse aspects of Amish culture, including its challenges, would have made the tour even more impactful.

We visited their farms, but didn't meet any Amish people - We took a tour with Mike, who is a super nice guy and very, very knowledgeable about the Amish. We asked him questions all day and he was able to answer everything. We were somewhat disappointed though that we didn't get to meet, and engage with any actual Amish people - instead just visiting their barns and seeing horses and cows. But visiting Lancaster was very nice (we came here specifically for the Amish) and it was cool to see them riding around town in their horse and buggies.
