Highlights
  • Strasburg - Stop at the farm where the Academy Award winning movie “Witness” was filmed. You will have a chance to tour the beautiful Amish farm which remains much as it was in the movie, interact with their many animals and possibly meet the wonderful Amish family who owns the farm. This is a completely private stop and not available to the public.

We will stop at a private and beautiful Amish home, where the kids make birdhouses. Witness Amish craftsmanship up close in the artisan stable and barn - and purchase a birdhouse if you like.

  • Paradise - Tour of an operating, private Amish dairy farm dating back to 1830’s
  • Amish Country - We will take a driving tour through beautiful Lancaster County farmland and learn about the history, culture, religion, and education of the Amish. We will see buildings associated with the very first European settlers from more than 300 years ago, covered bridges, 19th century mills, and more on our way to our first stop.
  • Strasburg - Stop at an Amish owned and operated creamery, where your ice cream is included, and the views are free too. This is ice cream as it should be… rich, fresh, and delicious!
  • Ronks - Shop where the Amish shop, not the tourists. Natural food stores are a staple for the Amish and we will go to an out of the way gem, for an up close look at this Amish run business.

Great tour - We had a wonderful time! Very informative and we learned much about the area and the people who share it from our tour guide Sandi. Our favorite stop was an Amish family’s garden and handicrafts store. We enjoyed meeting the people whose love and care went into the baked and canned goods we bought to take home. Well worth what we spent!

Van full!!! Everyone enjoyed and were educated. - Very in-depth tour. Immersion means immersion! Four farms, including an ice cream stop. Lots of detailed information, but I suggest that one book be read prior to tour. Local library can serve this purpose. Have your questions ready.

Great tour ! - Very nice tour (private since we were only two) ! Teh guide was nice, giving full of explanations about the Amish County and the Amish themselves. It's the only tour making you able to go on site of the movie 'The Witness'. Just amazing, don't hesitate !

n unparalleled experience that offered not just a window but a doorway into the genuine essence of Amish culture - This Amish tour was an unparalleled experience that offered not just a window but a doorway into the genuine essence of Amish culture. For those seeking to understand and connect with the Amish community on a deeper level, this tour is a masterpiece of cultural immersion. It's a journey we will cherish forever, filled with memories of authentic encounters and newfound appreciation for the simplicity and depth of the Amish way of life. My only critique lies in the tour's singular focus on the positive aspects of the Amish lifestyle, without addressing some of the controversies and challenges inherent within this way of life. For instance, the experience of being LGBTQ and Amish is a significant issue, with the community's traditional values often clashing with the identities of LGBTQ individuals. Addressing these and other controversies would have offered a more balanced view and added a layer of authenticity to the tour. It would help to see the Amish way of life not just through rose-colored glasses but also through a lens that acknowledges its complexities and the challenges faced by those who might not fit the traditional Amish mold. The tour was an unforgettable experience that allowed us to connect with and understand the Amish community's way of life on a deeper level. However, a more nuanced discussion on the diverse aspects of Amish culture, including its challenges, would have made the tour even more impactful.
