Access to this stunning alpine valley is solely through our private access and expert driver guides. This scenic 4WD Tour encompasses a large block of mountainous country, containing high inherent landscape values of The Mackenzie Country. Travel through pristine rivers and Merino Sheep. The overall naturalness of the rocky steep scree slides, the U-shaped valleys carved by glaciation, waterfalls, glaciers, lateral moraines and tussock- clad terraces, overwhelm the senses and ignite the wonder of such a supremely stunning and unique landscape. Highly recommended! - We booked ourselves a Cass Valley four wheel drive experience which we thoroughly enjoyed.
It was wonderful seeing a mob of thar which was a first for us, a lone bull awhile later, a glacier at the end of the valley and last but not least a couple of NZ’s native falcon, one of which fed right in front of of us having just caught a meal.
Our guide and driver Paul was very informative and a great story teller, even made a great coffee to go with our afternoon complimentary chocolate.
If you want to see big country and all of the above, highly recommended!

Beautiful scenery - A perfect way to see Lake Tekapo and surroundings from a different perspective. We were taken on a drive throught the merino sheep farms, river valley, we got to see beautiful views of entire Lake Tekapo. We also learned about the birds, the inhabitants of the valley. It was a very enjoyable afternoon.

Great day out - Great offroad drive up one of the valleys. Some information about the region and its people/culture. And lovely talks about anything and everything for the rest of the way. Very kid friendly!

Spectacular - Our driver /tour guide was amazing, told us all the history about the station we were on and surrounding mountains. The other 2 couple we went with were wonderful we all yarned the whole trip. Definitely would do it again as the landscape is absolutely stunning

Fantastic experience and excellent value - This adventure was fantastic! Well worth the fee. Incredible scenery, interesting info about the country and birds, access to areas you'd never see on your own. Owner Ben was informative and skilled, obviously experienced and well informed. We thoroughly enjoyed our morning!

4WD - no Land Rover - We enjoyed our guide - extremely personable - HOWEVER don’t plan on the advised Land Rovers. We were told both were in the shop and we were uncomfortably put in the back of a Toyota-not a pleasurable ride. Didn’t want to hold it against our guide, but sent a message to the operator who basically reply “sorry, too bad”. Also - it was advertised with “Glacier” - not one - again operator said “clouds”.
