Additional Information

We’re set to explore a series of lagoons situated within Chile’s largest salt flat, the Salar de Atacama. Our first stop is the Ojos del Salar, two deep freshwater wells nested in the desert where you can indulge in a rejuvenating swim. Following this, we’ll drop by the Tebinquinche Lagoon, where an awe-inspiring vista awaits, marked by a seamless blend of the sky, desert, and the stark whiteness of the salt.

Our journey continues to the renowned Laguna Cejar and Laguna Piedra, accented with hues of green and yellow grass that bring out the water’s color. Here, we take in the sight of turquoise waters and volcanoes while enjoying a tranquil bath that mimics the buoyant sensation of the Dead Sea. To wrap up a day filled with exploration, we’ll relax with a snack while admiring the sunset over these picturesque lagoons.

Please note that swimming is permitted only in Laguna Piedra and Ojos del Salar. Swimming is prohibited in Laguna Cejar and Laguna Tebinquinche.

Awesome Time! - Really cool tour! We went to two lagoons (one of which we swam in). Afterwards, we stopped and had a snack on the side of the road and watched the sun set behind the Andes. Awesome experience and I would definitely recommend.

Swimming with a Volcanic landscape! - The tour was very fun! Seeing the lagoons was a great experience in San Pedro de Atacama, but swimming in them was even better! Keep in mind the salt lagoon is NOT a hot spring so it's a little cool. Furthermore, we saw flamingoes and salt flats scattered amongst the volcano strewn landscape. Very unique experience!

A refreshing escape from the Santiago - This tour was an excellent way to start our time in San Pedro de Atacama! Floating in Laguna Cejar was so refreshing paired with an excellent view. I appreciated seeing the two different lakes and taking in the gorgeous viewpoints along the way. We ended the trip with some delicious snacks and the essential Chilean drink: pisco sours. I will say be prepared for the entry fees for each park as they were a bit steeper in price than I had anticipated. I suggest coming prepared with cash (about $20.000 CLP/person). Nevertheless, I found this tour to be very worthwhile and one of my highlights from my time in the desert.
