Additional Information

Embark on a tranquil kayak voyage on a water trail skirting New Orleans, where we’ll traverse an ecosystem-rich bayou interspersed with wildlife including alligators, turtles, birds, and fish, while making our way towards Lake Pontchartrain. Our journey traverses three distinctive landscapes: a pine woodland, a cypress marsh, and a salt marsh that leads into Lake Pontchartrain. On reaching Lake Pontchartrain’s mouth, given the tide is low and the waters tranquil, there’s a chance to wade, pause for lunch, snacks, and water, and discuss the surrounding geography and fauna. This leisurely paddle offers plenty of opportunities to photograph the native wildlife and captivating scenery. The tour’s total duration is roughly 2 hours.
