- Cathedrale St-Louis (La) - We pass by the famous land mark of La Rochelle
- Quartier Saint Nicolas - We walk through this bohemian neighbourhood discovering some of its unique boutiques and bars along the way.
- Eglise St-Sauveur - We stop outside the famous relic of La Rochelle and great example of the effect of the iconoclastic wars.
- Quartier du Gabut - We pass through here towards the end of our tour and see if there is anything interesting happening at the famous Guingette!
- Phare du quai Valin - We stop at this lighthouse and discuss the importance the two lighthouses had on maritime navigation in La Rochelle.

Brilliant tour! - I went to La Rochelle for a week with my family in August and the day after arriving I went on this walking tour - it was amazing! John's expert local knowledge of the area provided for a brilliant tour. It combined fascinating stories about the history and culture of La Rochelle, alongside more practical recommendations for what to see and do in La Rochelle! I loved it and would recommend it to anyone thinking of going to la Rochelle!

Time well spent - John was an excellent tour guide. Very articulate and well versed in the history of the city and region. He brought the history that I learned in high school to life. Leisurely pace, easy to walk. Very highly recommend the 2 hour tour.

Wonderful overview of La Rochelle, providing context and color. - We really enjoyed this highly informative and interesting walking tour. John gives the insider's story, bringing both history and current events to life. We love history, and John was extremely knowledgeable and shared little-known facts and anecdotes. We recommend starting your holiday with this tour to provide context and color to La Rochelle.

Fantastic Tour - Great tour with John. There were only 3 of us so we were able to ask quite a few questions! Very knowledgable and had a lot of local knowledge. Good insights and recommendations. History tour through beautiful La Rochelle! - John was an engaging and friendly tour guide in La Rochelle! He gave us a wonderful tour through his beautiful town and we learned so much. We highly recommend him for any of his tours, you won't be disappointed! We just wish we had more time to try his food tour!

Walking tour with a great Irish guide - We (7 friends) took a private walking tour with John and it was one of the highlights of our trip to La Rochelle. John’ knowledge of the city and its histor, he was able to highlight places of interest and his chats re these would motivate most people to to visit the different areas. John has a lovely warm quietly confident personality, with a great sense of humour (being Irish he obviously was born with a good sense of humour😂☘️. We would recommend the tour and agree that it was money well spent . If done early in your holiday you will know where best to visit, eat and drink during your stay.

A great overview of La Rochelle - Great walking tour, covering architecture and history. John was able to convey the information brilliantly without it being overwhelming. He had plenty of tips for solo touring afterwards. Thoroughly enjoyed it and added Johns food tour immediately afterwards.

Get to know La Rochelle in one tour! - Complete tour of La Rochelle and it's history. He captures all the important (and poignant) points! John was very interesting and a pleasure to walk and talk with.

A real five star tour - John our guide was brilliant. We were a group of 8 friends visiting La Rochelle for the first time. We learned so much about the history of the city, saw so many sights, got great recommendations & just really enjoyed the banter with John. Well worth booking this tour. Sorry we were not around to do his food tour too.
