Varied and Plentiful! - Amara was very knowledgeable about the food and the area. She was able to answer questions, and the choices of food and location for each "course" were incredible! I'm glad I didn't eat beforehand, as there was plenty to experience on this tour. I would strongly recommend it to anyone visiting La Paz for the first time.

Excellent La Paz food tour with an amazing guide - During my stay in Bolivia, I was pleasantly surprised by the local delicacies that I tasted. Although Bolivia is not known for its culinary offerings, the food I tried during my tour was impressive. We indulged in a variety of dishes, from anticuchos at a street food stand to cocktails and picamacho at a nice restaurant in an upscale hotel. During the tour, our guide Max shared with us many Bolivian culinary traditions, including the fascinating Bolivian drinking etiquette and the origin stories of many dishes. Max, our guide, was incredibly warm and hugely entertaining. He even offered his cell phone/WhatsApp number in case we needed assistance during our stay in La Paz. Max's self-deprecating humor, such as having to support five wives and five kids, added to the tour's enjoyment. The Bolivian hospitality truly impressed us, and we left feeling grateful for the experience. If you're looking for a foodie tour in La Paz, I highly recommend the Red Cap Walking Tour, and don't forget to ask for Max as your guide.

Good experience, recommended! - We had a nice time on the Red Cap Foodie Tour. The food was tasty and our guide, Marisol, did a good job explaining everything to us. We went to 4 different places and tried 6 different dishes and two different drinks and all were different types of dishes.

Some Good and Some Ok - Four stops total. Two were great and two were average. We wrote some food/drink restrictions during booking but the guide was only aware of some of them, which caused some confusion at the end. We told the guide multiple times that we love spicy food but she kept asking for the spicy dishes to be made mild for us. Overall, an ok tour, not a big miss if you do not do it.

This tour needs a much better guide, and better food locations - We meet outside of the Cathedral on a Saturday night and were met with a thriving atmosphere of music and Easter food markets. Our guide didn't bother to acknowledge any of this and instead quickly ushered us past the fun and towards an empty restaurant, where we had a mediocre tasting sandwich. I was very surprised a Bolivian classic like Salteña was not included in the tour. Instead we had a meal at a Hotel restaurant. At another place we were comically asked to share out a bowl of soup among 10 of us, with just our own tablespoons to work with, as our guide disappeared for a smoke break. When she was present she would engage in very long winded stories while the food sat around getting cold. Most of the food was left uneaten. As it ended we were invited to stay for a drink, however the room could not clear fast enough. Very disappointing as I know Bolivia has more to offer for food but this tour did nothing to showcase that, and our very low energy guide did little to keep our group engaged.
