Additional Information

2 THRILLING ADVENTURES UP FOR GRABS. COMMENCE AMIDST THE CLOUDS & TERMINATE ON THE MOON.

CHACALTAYA - Once functioned as a ski resort, equipped with a single mechanical lift, established atop a glacier, also known as Chacaltaya. In addition, it boasted a restaurant and a chalet for holidaymakers. The mountain drew crowds all-over-the-year. It emerged as a popular leisure activity for the middle and affluent classes, who spent their daytime there.

VALLEY OF THE MOON - a labyrinth of deep canyons and enormous pinnacles. The formations, mainly made of clay and sandstone, were sculpted by the relentless erosion of mountains by the region’s powerful winds and heavy rainfall.
One of the most stunning attributes of Valley of the Moon is its diverse color spectrum, extending from pure beige hues to patches of red and deep purple. This extraordinary occurrence is caused by the substantial variation in mineral content in each individual mountain, resulting in multicolored patterns and striking visual illusions on the weathered slopes.

Chacaltaya & Valle de la Luna day tour from La Paz - It's a pretty rough road to get to Chacaltaya, but the driver seemed to know what he was doing. Unfortunately when we arrived it started snowing hard so there wasn't much to see, but the experience was great nonetheless. Our guide was great, with a lot of enthusiasm and energy. He gave some interesting facts about the mountain and the history of Valle de la Luna. The only negative is that they were a bit late picking us up in the morning. For the price it was more than worth it!

Not a reliable provider - I had booked this experience and planned my trip accordingly. The evening before the trip, they cancelled the whole trip, although I had gotten a final confirmation upon booking. Not a serious organization, dont book there!!!!!
