Encyclopedic Knowledge of Barolo and Barbaresco With Relaxed Delivery - We spent 3 days with Silvia as our guide and her husband Fabio as our driver. For us this was a bit of a splurge and we are so glad we did it. We came away with a deep understanding of the Piemonte regions of Barolo, Barbaresco, and Roero. We felt transported in time and place. The rolling hills, castles, winemaking family stories and general history of the region along with the soil types and winemaking styles all added to the depth of the actual tastings. We highly recommend both Silvia and Fabio as guide and driver. Our memories of this tour will enhance every bottle of wine from the region that we open in the future.

Private Tour Wine Tasting of the Barolo Region - Alberto our guide was both enthusiastic and informative. He was very knowledgeable about the history of the region and the wines. We were given information on each wine we tasted. We were even able to go to a small farmers market. I would highly recommend this tour.

This region of Northwest Italy is stunning. We visited 2 great wineries and did some wine tasting. There were opportunities to purchase wine at each place. We also had an outstanding lunch and it was included in the tour. Our guide was very knowledgable and engaged. Our driver was also excellent, negotiating the curves in the hills around Barola. We visited Alba but it would have been great to eat there as it was the start of truffle season. This tour is an excellent introduction to the Piedmont vine region and I highly recommend it if you are visiting Turin and would like to get out of the city for a day.

The tour staff at both Cerretto and Marchesi di Barolo were welcoming and accommodating. I learned a lot about Barolo and saw a great deal of the Langhe countryside as well, things I couldn't have done so thoroughly on my own. All in all, this was a perfect way to spend a Sunday in Torino.

Our first stop was the Barolo winery, small family owned. The Borgogno family was very welcoming and gracious. Wines were fabulous. Then off to Cordero Di Montezemolo. Much bigger winery, great wines. Although not as personable as the first. Really enjoyed this tour.

Good half day trip, overall! That is... -
Good half day trip, overall! That is if you are willing to pay top money, if don't want to do your own research and drive yourself to explore. Unfortunately, we were able to visit only one winery, as the second one was closed. So we did second wine tasting at the enoteca/ wine shop, which was very picturesque. Yet, experience was not the same as being to the actual winery. Having visited many vineyards across Italy, I must say that the scenery was splendid, yet the wineries of Piedmont (at least on this trip) seemed very manicured, but lacked the intimate feel of the others. Our tour guide was enthusiastic and seemed knowledgable. Thank you.
