Sarapiqui River is one of the cleanest rivers in the country and has been the base of national and international rafting and kayak competitions, due to the quality of the rapids and the gorgeous scenery.
- Ruta Nacional Secundaria 126 - We have a perfect outdoor adventure for those who seek to feel an extra dose of adrenaline. Rafting Class 4 level is recommended for paddlers with some experience, people able to swim and float on a rapid in case of need.
After driving less than one hour through rural areas, plantations, and towns, you will reach the entry point of the Sarapiquí River, where the safety gear and a safety explanation.
Our experienced guides combined with a well-synchronized team will experience together the emotions produced by the turbulent waters while the waves break over the bow, causing a splash that gets everybody wet.
A second guide will go ahead on a kayak, inspecting each rapid in advance and informing the guide about changes or preventions or simply to assist in the rescue of a swimmer.
After going through some rapids we stop to swim in a pool and eat some tropical fruits. As the river descends, the rapids get calmer, offering chances to observe some wildlife such as river birds, sloths, monkeys, toucans, or frogs. Upon returning from the river we stop at our restaurant “La Finquita” where we will taste a delicious Costa Rican style lunch.
