Amazing! Guides were spectacular! Everything was superb. - The guide was spectacular. Entire trip was perfect for thrills without real danger. They knew every part of the river. Pointed out wildlife, mid trip snack too!

Let it happen again - Both tours released adrenaline in us but we always felt safe. The attention of all the staff was exceptional, especially Karen, it was nice to see a woman in this world of extreme sports. We hope to return soon.

Maquique White Water Rafting - While family went rafting. Great experience. We got soaked. Class 2&3 rapid were just the right speed for us. We had the best time. Water was great.

Would give six stars if I could - This was the highlight of our trip. This is an outstanding company that exhibits the essence of Pura Vida. Our guide Francisco was with us throughout the bus rides. Our boat captain Felipe Coralis was quite the expert, kind and patient. The company fitted us with life jackets and helmets before sending us to the rafts. Safety is clearly a priority with them. If you are reasonably fit and not scared of water, this is a lot of fun. At the end of the trip they fed us delicious watermelon and pineapple and drinks. And then drove us to a restaurant for a simple most delicious meal (needless to say we were also quite hungry) If you are in the area and looking for adventure Maquique Adventure is your best bet.

Amazing white water rafting time with Mario - We had amazing time doing white water rafting with Mario. The whole adventure was executed very well. We were picked up and driven to the location via Van with other passengers. During the 40 Min ride, Fransisco shared his experience and all about Costa Rica. He shared generously about school systems, economy, plants and all about Costa Rica, we learned a lot. He also used this time to provide safety training so it was easy for us to get in the river right away. Mario was our Captain driving the raft and we also had a 8 yr old who enjoyed her first white water rafting a lot. Mario was super helpful in making 2 hr river experience great fun. He also shared about plants, animals, sloth..at the end of the journey we were brought to an authentic Costa Rican restaurant where food was just phenomenal. Even for vegetarians the food was just delicious. Overall, I would highly recommend this adventure.

Super fun day white water rafting - Our family of 4 did a half day rafting trip with Maquique. It was an absolutely perfect day! The rapids were exciting and fun without feeling dangerous and we had a wonderful guide named Mario. He made the whole thing so much fun! The van trip to and from the river was easy and enjoyable. They provided towels and beverages after we got off the waiter which was a real treat. After the rafting we had a super delicious lunch at Fogon de Chela. Highly recommend Maquiue!!

Worth Every Penny - Awesome experience! We found that Maquique had the best rafting deal of all the tour companies and I can say it was 100% worth it! Must do if you’re in La Fortuna or anywhere nearby. It was out first time rafting and it couldn’t have gone any better.

Rafting was great. Wish we got the professional photos. - I signed up for this activity with another company (Calypso adventures) who outsourced me to Maquique. I went rafting with my 8 year old son and had Mario as a guide. He was great with my son and with translating everything into Spanish and English. We had a wonderful time with just 3 other people in our raft. I was disappointed however with how they did not provide photos of the experience for my son and I but they had a whole album of pictures for the larger family who also went but on their own boat. After a week of asking Calypso to please send me the photos they eventually just told me that Maquique would be in contact with me directly and I am still waiting. My son keeps asking to see the pictures and I have none to show him. Very disappointed in their lack of follow through. If I had known that Calypso was going to outsource me I would not have booked through them… for some reason we did not get the service Maquique provided to the other family. Other than that…. We enjoyed our day on the river and recommend Mario as guide.
