Great sloth and night tours - We enjoyed the sloth watching tour with Ruben. He was very friendly, knowledgeable, and expert spotter of the sloths. We saw man and baby sloth sleeping way up high in the trees, toucan, capuchin and howler monkeys. Of course also the flora is beautiful also. We were lucky to see a sloth down low, as it must have climbed down to go poop and was making its way back up high into the trees. So cute. We also took the night tour. It was just my partner and I with our guide David M. He was so passionate about the different frogs and insects. We even saw a couple of sloths up high, turkey, glass frog, blue jeans frog. Please renew his contract! It was so neat to be in the rainforest at night in the pitch black with flashlights. I had my headlamp with me as well but did not use it much since it attracted bugs near my face. Yummy fresh pineapple and watermelon at the end of both tours. Of course nature does not plan for you, we were lucky to see the wildlife that we did. They do not entice or intervene with the animals in any way, you see them in their natural habitat and way of life.

Wonderful guide and a nice easy walk through the forest - We had a great early walk through the forest. We saw frogs and lizards, a turtle and a cayman besides a few sloths. All were just curled up sleeping until the end and we got to see her face and all. Our guide was fantastic, very knowledgeable and helpful in identifying many types of birds and foliage. Really enjoyed our time.

We love sloths! - Soooo many poison dart frogs!!!! My 2 year old loved the exploration. Sloths are finding in the trees but the guides are masters at finding them. It’s a long-ish hike, so parents be prepared to do some carrying!

Well worth the money - We had an excellent experience at Sloth Territory. We went on the 10 o’clock tour so I don’t know if earlier or later towards would have the same number of animal sightings. The day before we went on a three stop package tour that cost about four times as much, and did not see nearly as many animals as what we saw in Sloth Territory. Well worth the money. Our guide, David was knowledgeable, professional, and friendly. I highly recommend doing this tour.

Highly recommend this place - Wonderful tour with a wonderful guide. Our guide was friendly and very informative. You could tell she loved what she does. Not only pointing out the sloths, which we saw 6 of including 1 w/ a baby, she showed us insects, a snake, birds and explained about the local foliage and trees and their benefits. Was given a delicious fruit plate after the tour. We were recommended this tour by other tourists we met while in La Fortuna, as well as by the folks that ran the place we stayed.

Book this tour if you want to see sloths! - Great tour, you can see that they put a lot of thought into how it's organised and that the guides are passionate about sloths. We had David as our guide who was kind, knowledgeable and funny and great at spotting sloths and other animals. We saw 6 adult sloths and 2 babies too! And the territory itself is very beautiful and nice to walk through.

Great start to the trip - This was a great start to our trip, immediately checking Sloths off our bucket list (we'd see lots more). Sloth's Territory is a small reserve, basically private land with a lot of the trees Sloths like, but no fences keeping them there. Definitely not a zoo. The guides go out in the morning and put flags by trees where they spot Sloths, then the guides take groups on a trail to look for them. Our guide was Daniella, and she was great. She showed us things with and without her scope, explained things, and took lots of pictures through the scope that she air dropped at the end. If you want to use your own camera, not a phone through the scope, bring a good zoom lens because the Sloths tend to rest high in the trees.

Do not go with young children - We went on this tour with our 3 and 6 year old and it was quite disappointing and not family friendly. First, the tour guide was not very sensitive to the fact that my kids were young and might need a few reminders to keep their voices down. Secondly, the only way to see the sloths was through a telescope since they were so high up in the trees, and the telescope was too high for my kids to reach. Would’ve been nice if this tour were more accessible to children.
