Amazing experience - I have rafted 5+ times in the states and the Sarapiqui class 3 to 4+ rapids trip was much better than any previous trip. Our guide, Gerald, was amazing. He managed the raft very well and taught us a lot about the local land and culture. Highly recommend booking a trip and requesting Gerald as your guide.

Experience - We’ve been rafting once before and thought it was the best experience. Yesterday by far exceeded our prior experience! Roberto was so fun and so helpful, we couldn’t have asked for a better guide!

Exhilarating! - The rapids are constant and it was a blast. Gerald was our guide and this was a terrific adventure for our family (2 adults/2 teens). These rapids are exhilarating, but not frightening. We went in the pouring rain and it was THE BEST. Thank you Gerald and Arenal rafting.

Highlight of our trip - Family of 5 with 3 young teenagers. Our guide was Yader, who made sure not only that my three teenagers had all the thrills they were looking for, and that my wife, who is usually very cautious, had a blast. Two perfect hours of rafting in which we saw howl monkeys, tiger and white herons, and other wild animals. 100% recommendable.

BEST water rafting and the BEST GUIDE - I have never been water rafting and I was very skeptical about how dangerous it would be. The guide in my group was Braulio. He was amazing to hang out with and very experienced when it came to rafting. He made the trip fun and safe, The scenery was magnificent and the weather was perfect. Everyone was amazing and helpful with our safety being top priority. I would come back and do it again. It is a must on your La Fortuna visit

Super fun and amazing scenery - Rafting was an absolute blast. I had never gone white water rafting before and was super nervous, but this was the perfect mix of exciting but not too scary. We were given very clear instructions on what to do and our guide, Paolo Chole, was fantastic and very safety-focused. Not only was it super fun, but the river is beautiful as well, and we saw lots of cool wildlife. One of the best things I did in Costa Rica!

Fun - but bruising! - My partner and I enjoyed this trip, and overall it was well organised and fun. However, we did both leave with some injuries - so I'd advise others to be aware of the potential for injury and consider whether the class IV experience is the best choice. I cracked or bruised a rib as well as picking up a bunch of bruises and grazes, which has affected some other activities and sleep. I think this varies wildly by guide - some rafts on our tour didn't flip at all, but ours flipped 2 or 3 times and 3 of the 4 guests on our raft left with injuries. Whilst I do take responsibility for my participation, and am not too upset about things despite a bit of discomfort, I do think Arenal Rafting should be clearer about the types of injury which could occur so that customers could decide if it's worth the risks. Overall - a fun day out, but consider which level to do and be aware of potential for some bumps and scrapes.
