Lovely Time Learning To Cook Local Cuisine! - This cooking class was a great way to learn more about the local cuisine, try fresh and delicious food, and bond with other travellers. The hosts were so kind and knowledgable. They took us around the farm to help gather fresh ingredients, and we were able to participate in preparing each part of the meal. It was very rewarding to sit with the group at the end of the class, eat together and share travel experiences. Would definitely do this again!

Lovely unique experience! - The kids learned new cooking skills , about where the food comes from, practiced their Spanish in a welcoming environment, and we all learned about Costa Rican traditional food. They all loved this experience and we left so very very full!

You can't help but truly enjoy this tour! - A very interesting and fun experience. First we took a walk around the small farm where we picked many of the ingredients we would later cook with. We were provided with a machete, which they said was for the chicken (but fortunately they were just kidding!) Chris was a very knowledgable guide who showed us many fascinating elements of the organic process. And Aileen, the chef, who only spoke Spanish, couldn't have been more charming or helpful. The meal she showed us how to make was very local and delicious. A memorable Costa Rican experience!

Fabulously Fun and Delicious - Our family had the most exceptional time at Pura Vida Cooking Class farm to table dinner experience. Our driver guide picked us up at our hotel promptly. He (sorry we don't recall his name) was friendly and professional, sharing facts and sights around the area during our travels to the farm. Once at the farm, we walked through the gardens and he pointed out wildlife sightings, shared plant names, uses and growing tips. Finally, we harvested some components for our dinner. Chef Christina was super friendly and fabulous - guiding us through slicing, dicing, peeling and prepping all the ingredients for our dinner. We were amazed that she cooked solely on a wood burning stove. Christina was an absolute joy and made us feel like family. Our feast was of course delicious! We had the BEST time on this tour and definitely recommend it.

Thoroughly Enjoyed - I am not a cook and I thoroughly enjoyed this experience. We began by harvesting our vegetables and roots from the farm. Then we made a wonder meal. The chef helped every step of the way and she was very encouraging.

You will not regret this experience! - We really enjoyed our tour with Christopher and Christina. They picked us up at our Cabina which was nice! We walked thru the Garden area and farm and harvested sweet potatoes, yucca, peppers, oregano, cilantro and green Papaya. We then brought to kitchen where Christina took over and instructed us on how to clean and prepare our veggies, fruit and spices. Then we peeled, diced, washed, soaked and dried, You could see the passion she had for cooking and we worked to make the meal come together. Then we broke down the chicken, marinating with fresh lime juice for while we cooked down the vegetables for our entree. Then we processed to make yucca and sweet potato chips on the mandolin, while other were making pico de gallo. All of the cooking was on a traditional Costa Rican wood fired stove. Which was fun!! If you like to cook you will love this experience! Loved everything about it! And learned some new tips and tricks! If

Delightful and delicious - Could not rave more about this experience - it was truly one of the most special things we have ever done! The shuttle picked us up promptly from our hotel in Fortuna, and took us the short drive to La Finquita Farm. It was just the 4 of us (not necessarily intentional - but certainly a treat!), but the farm can clearly accommodate quite a crowd! Our tour guide, Christopher, was absolutely outstanding. Incredibly smart and able to answer literally any question we threw his way. He took us on a tour of the farm, where we gathered ingredients for our meal - and then guided us through the entire meal preparation - sampling DELICIOUS meals along the way. We ended the afternoon eating together and reflecting on such an incredible experience. Highly, highly recommend for anyone who enjoys the local cuisine and getting first hand immersion into the culture. Truly such a special experience to treat you and your family to.

Cooking experience with a difference - Wow, what a fabulous trip. From the moment of being picked up from our hotel in a courtesy minibus, our guide Christopher was brilliant. He was pleasant, knowledgeable and very professional. The small organic farm is set in an idyllic area of the forest, it is beautifully maintained and easily accessible. I would say the staff are passionate about the farm and its eco sustainability. We picked various herbs, cassava, peppers and limes. The facilities were spotlessly clean also. Blanca our chef was superb, fun, friendly but also very proficient. We helped to prepare cassava & plantain chips which were delicious. We also made a very traditional Costa Rican chicken dish cooked over a wood burling stove. We made tacos 🌮 and salad. The food was amazing. As a bonus the bird life we saw was the best we've seen in Costa Rica so far. Toucan, humming birds in abundance. We've had a wonderful trip and would recommend 💯 %
