Great Host Huberth & Great Organic Farm - You have to come here because Huberth, the host, is a great person, is very kind and knowledgeable, speaks English for those who can’t speak Spanish, and is talented as many things. His family consisting of his mother and brothers & sisters and father are all lovely people as well. We stayed in his cabin that had a view of the forest and many types of birds and trees. The cabin was built with his own hands, and with the help of his uncle. The cabin had a great view, and it was very unique and comfortable. We took a chocolate class with him as well as a cooking class, and they were both amazing because he spent such great time educating us about how chocolate is made from beginning to end as well as being able to pick everything from his farm to cook that same night. Both of the food was organic and vegetarian and picked from his own farm. Cooking class also included his mother who did the orchestrating of the cooking and was a great cook. it was really nice to have such a down to earth experience with him and his family. The farm is amazing with so much natural life and he was able to show us nocturnal animals such as toads were such beautiful in color. This experience was amazing because you can’t get these kind of experiences anywhere else especially because they have a farm and they grow so many vegetables and herbs and they have fruit trees as well as Cacao trees. You could literally eat off their land here. Just remember to bring rain shoes for wet grounds w mud and rain jackets and changes of clothes since the rain and dampness is part of this ecosystem. Try to bring as many clothing items that are waterproof as possible and definitely bug spray for mosquitoes. It’s best to rent a car bc the roads are very narrow and there are no sidewalks and there are no shoulders on the roads. So you can’t really walk safely around here. People do it and they also bike but I would be too scared. If you’re going to rent a car and park it at this farm, make sure you check for mud areas so your car does not get stuck. Oh and their 2 dogs are lovely too. The brown one Pelota is so cute because he follows Huberth around everywhere, and is part of every tour and knows every inch of the farm as well.

Learning about Organic herbs with cooking. - This was a truly amazing experience Shortly after we arrived, we were caught in a down pour, but we didn't care. We started with a personalized tour of an organic farm and picked some of the vegetables we used during the dinner preparation. We got to see how spices such as cinnamon, lemon grass, pepper (black and white) as well avocados, pineapple, and sugar cane are grown. We enjoyed learning about Costa Rican agriculture from Hubert and his family. We especially enjoyed the lesson on sugar cane and making a pre-dinner drink with guaro and learning a Costa Rican toast! Huberts, also shared with us about his background and how hard he had growing up. It was very moving. We don't eat meat, so they went out of their way to accommodate us We made a salad, vegetables, rice and beans, plantains and corn tortillas. We learned about Costa Rican spices, foods, and traditions and enjoyed a wonderful meal in their home. This was a true highlight of our trip! We would highly recommend it.

Amazing experience and definitely recommend it to anyone - What an amazing place. My favourite tour here in Costa Rica. So inspiring seeing and listening to Huber. He told us about his life and showed us around his beautiful farm that he’s built. So educational and interesting. Him and his family opened up their home to us and we felt so welcome. The food and drinks we had were delicious and definitely the best meal we’ve had in CR. I want to come back again and we’re definitely going to try and make his delicious dressing. We would 100% recommend this tour and cooking class.

incredible experience in a costa rican farm and home - We got there it was down pouring rain and they gave us rain coats and umbrellas. Then we went to the garden and picked so many herbs like pepper, turmeric, ginger, lemon grass, mustards , mints, cinnamon everything fresh for a salad. then we went to the house and the kids helped cook it. We also made fresh lemonade with ginger on a press. They welcomed us into their house. this was lovely and we learned so much.

Must do! Wonderful hosts! - We really enjoyed this day! Walking through the farm and learning about the vast number of things they are able to grow here was so much fun. Then we headed inside to cook. I even bought ingredients at home to try to replicate one of the dishes we made. Hubert and his parents were so welcoming. Absolutely you should sign up for this experience.

Adventure in an organic farm - We had an amazing time at Huberth’s farm. Huberth Sr., who started the farm around 20 years ago, and his oldest son, Huberth Jr., gave us a tour around the farm and showed us the different produce they plant. We collected some sugar cane, ginger, turmeric, and herbs to make juice, as well as some salad ingredients for our dinner. Then, we went to the family’s home and met the other family member’s, Huberth Sr.’s lovely wife and their two other sons. We prepared the dinner under our hostess’s direction, which consisted of chicken and rice, salad, and tortillas, and enjoyed it altogether. They were very welcoming and warm. We recommend this farm highly to all nature and food lovers!

Don’t miss this gem - This might end up being the best experience we had on our entire trip. Our teen boys loved it. The intimate dinner made in the family kitchen was authentic.

A lovely evening on an organic farm! - We had the most wonderful time at paraiso organico! It truly was such a magical experience to walk through the farm and learn about the various organic plants and fruits and vegetables! Nano was an excellent tour guide and we had the best time touring the farm with him! Don Huber and his wife and family were so incredibly welcoming. We loved having the opportunity to learn how to make a traditional Costa Rican dish with them and having dinner together. This experience is one we will never forget and we highly recommend it! Thank you so much to Nano and Don Huber and family! Fue un placer conocer Uds y muchisimas gracias por su hospitalidad y por darnos la bienvenida a su casa. Espero que nos veamos otra vez! It was a pleasure to meet you and we are so grateful for your hospitality and for welcoming us into your home! We hope to see you again!
