Very fun!!!! - You first stop and see the hanging bridges and your tour guide will help you spot some very unique animals in the jungle. You get to go on about five bridges which are right in my opinion I feel like the photos make them look more dramatic than they are. Then you will hike around the volcano which can get super hot so try to wear breathable clothes and bring sunscreen and probably a hat because it gets hot. The viewpoint for the volcano is beautiful. It’s not a super long hike. It’s about 2 miles in total so it’s not that aggressive. It just depends on the time of year you’re going and how hot it’s going to be. They do provide water so you don’t have to worry about that. And then afterwards we visited the waterfall, which was very nice. I would highly suggest bringing water shoes because the rocks are slippery. There is quite a bit of stairs, but nothing that’s not doable. You can also take breaks if you need and there is rest stops in between the stairs where you can have a seat and catch your breath. You can honestly do this tour on your own and visit the hanging bridges on your own, but you won’t be able to spot all the unique animals because the tour guides know exactly where to look and what to look for. They also have a telescope where you can see the animals very close and take photos of the telescope with your phone. And the hike was helpful since we had a tour guide so he was letting us know where to go, but you can also do that on your own if you really wanted to. We were only there for three days so we just wanted to get everything done with someone guiding us and didn’t wanna waste any time. Tips: - Bring water shoes - Wear your bathing suit underneath your clothes (you can also change if you don’t want to do that they will give you that option) - Bring sunscreen and a hat - Bring your fancy camera because the photos opportunity are amazing

Great Full Day - Our guide Brian made sure we had an amazing time. It’s a full day but still ended at a reasonable time and was a great way to do these main attractions of the Arenal area including a delicious lunch. Definitely recommend.

Fantastic Tour. Not to be missed - Jose was fantastic. He was very informative but was also able to find and point out so much stuff. We saw so many animals. We even stopped on the side of the road as he saw a sloth in a tree. We even saw spider monkeys flying between trees. It was a full day and he never left us bored. Highly recommend this tour. Even the lunch was great.

Amazing Costa Rica - Our guide, Jose or Chino as his friends call him, was amazing. He absolutely made the day memorable. He's very knowledgeable about the area and he has a deep passion for nature and sharing what he knows. We saw so many wonderful creatures that we would not have without his eyes. The day is long but oh so fun. I highly recommend this tour and hope that you get lucky and have Jose as your guide!

Best tour option in Arenal - This was a fantastic full day tour taking in 3 of the best experiences near Arenal. Each phase was so well done. Juan Carlos was a gifted teacher and amazing animal and bird spotter. We have a very good understanding of how the current volcano formed and how it affected lives from before and after 1968. He made sure we got to see a wide variety of birds and animals, taking pictures through his scope with phones for us to share. He was patient and inclusive of each member of the group and gave us so many insights throughout the day. The lunch was a very nice “typical “ CR lunch. We initially hesitated spending a higher amount compared to lesser tours but are thrilled with the experience and recommend it highly over cheaper tours that only include one out two of these tremendous experiences. We couldn’t be happier and recommend it highly to everyone.

La Fortuna Waterfall is a 10/10 - Our tour guide Guillermo, aka Memo, was knowledgeable, nice, patient, and funny! The lunch (local Casado) we had at the tour operator's very own Soda was delicious. Every single stop had bathrooms, which was perfect for changing. The hike on the base of the Arenal Volcano was OK. The walk through Parque Mistico crossing all of the hanging bridges was alright but the real highlight of this tour was the (cold) plunge in La Fortuna Waterfall, with a nice workout at the very end to get back to the bus. However, Memo was able to provide us with more than enough time to climb back up to stairs (with some reststops included).

Disappointing experience - Unfortunately, I wouldn’t recommend this tour. A big plus goes to the communication during the booking process and the hotel pickup, especially since we were staying outside the pickup zone, it made me feel cared for and gave the impression we were dealing with professionals. However, overall, the tour was disappointing. Our group was very poorly matched - we were the only people in our 30s, while the rest of the group was at least twice our age, which made it hard to keep a comfortable pace. The guide also seemed disengaged, as if he was just going through the motions to get the day over with. He didn’t share many insights or try to connect with the group. Since we were the last to get on the bus, we didn’t even hear what the plan for the day was. The hanging bridges and jungle walk, which was the first stop, were genuinely enjoyable, and the guide seemed more engaged at that point. But the waterfall visit was a mistake. After descending (and later climbing) 500 steps, we were told we only had 15 minutes to swim because we had to head to lunch. That was extremely disappointing - had I known, I wouldn’t have gone down. I’m 30 and run regularly, but the climb back up in the heat and humidity was really tough. Honestly, it just wasn’t worth it. The lunch was also a letdown… it took place in the company facility. The food was average at best, with only the main dish being somewhat enjoyable. For comparison, during a similarly priced full-day tour in Mexico, we had a true fiesta-style meal in a beautiful spot full of birds and atmosphere. The 1968 trail walk was okay, but again the guide made no effort to engage with us, and the information shared was minimal - I actually learned more about the volcano from ChatGPT than from the tour. Overall, I left very disappointed and would recommend either doing this trip independently or choosing a different company. The waterfall is definitely better to visit on your own, and honestly, a guide isn’t necessary for the 1968 trail either. For me, this felt like wasted money.
