Costa Rica Descens Ecological Agriculture

It’s uncommon these days to get a firsthand look at the farming process. The main purpose of our farm tours is to let you see the origins of what we eat, instead of just seeing it appear in stores. Our farmers will gladly cooperate with you to plan a farm tour that aligns with your group’s theme.

We are thrilled to open our farm to you in a manner that caters to your group’s interests. Listed below are some examples of group tour themes to give you an idea of what a visit to the farm may entail.

Focus on local crops production and distribution, highlighting seasonality, timings for different crop growth, and our distribution strategy.

Medicinal Plants; Detailing the ancient tradition of using plants for medicinal purposes. As a natural defence, plants produce hundreds of chemical compounds to protect against insects, fungus, disease, and herbivorous animals.

Amazing adventure - Grevin was amazing he directed us so we wouldn’t fall.. he educated us on what was near the river. From plants to animals, and rivers. We got soaked but it was definitely worth it.

Wonderful empanadas - This was a great idea my aunt found but the only thing was that the bathrooms were not exactly clean. I did not mind it too much and the people were so nice. Milana, the head chef, was so god at teaching my cousin how to cut basil or some sort of edible leaf and the tour of the farm was nice. we made sugar cane juice and the guide let us chew on some of the sugar cane which was really good. Then we came back, cooked and ate food so it was really great. THAT WAS AMAZINGLY GREAT AND THE BEST THING I EVER DID IN COST RICA. - age 9 Milana and Warner were wonderful hosts. We made empanadas and ceviche. I’d definitely do it again.

Must try cooking class - The owners were super friendly, they showed us their farm and really took time to explain us the different ingredients. The cooking in itself was amazing we cooked empanadas and ceviche from A to Z and the food was delicious!

Excellent family cooking class - Melania and Warner made this a very enjoyable experience. We made ceviche, empanadas, and patacones over a wood fired stove. They were super friendly, involved everyone, and made us feel like welcomed guests. Fun for all ages!

A blast for families - Family of 4, kids ages 10 and 12. We had a blast on the level 2&3 rapids - plenty of adrenaline, and laughs. The package included a lunch afterwards, and a tour of the small farm. They definitely put a lot of thought into hosting a really good experience. Oscar Parra lead our raft, clearly loves what he does, had us laughing and was great with the kids. Highly recommended, probably the highlight of our whole trip.

Rafting with Warner - We went rafting and it was so much fun! At first, we were very scared and did not want to go. But Warner took great care of us and made us feel safe and comfortable. If you are in doubt please ask for Warner because he is the best!!!
