A very complete and interesting day - A very well organized, very complete day with serious and attentive guides. A large group at the start, but split into smaller groups for activities. Attention ! It's physical! The best part: each activity ends with either lunch, coffee and cookies, or a cocktail. What could be better ? And what's more, they provide you with return transport from your hotel. Really great ! The only thing you can't control is the weather in a rainforest.

Well worth it! - We loved a lot about the tour. We would recommend that you be somewhat physically fit, since you will be hiking. It’s all well worth the effort. The stairs to the waterfall aren’t worth it. Our guide Julian and Kristan were both amazing and amazingly helpful and generous with information. It’s a long day! Prepare and rest up! But well worth the money.

Super Tour! Worth every Dollar! Guides who love, what they are doing! Must have in La Fortuna - We have Seen a lot of animals and the amazing Rain Forest. The hiking down to the Waterfall and up to the Lava-Track is pure adventure. Although we had a lot of rain, the guides were happy and friendly, explaining everything about the volcano and the nature around it. These guys have brought so much fun to that great trip.

A spectacular day full of unexpected adventures ☺️ - We had just arrived in Fortune and found this wonderful agency with a staff of 10. There were 2 guides on the bus divided into 2 groups, we had Max, a guide with a lot of knowledge and passionate about transmitting even the smallest detail. A flower that all the guides overlooked and he would stop and explain something fascinating about that flower. It doesn't matter what excursion you have booked if you don't have a good guide. I don't know if you will see this message Max but I still send it to the universe, thank you very much and Pura vida 🙏☺️ @soltowanda

Tour of 10, highly recommended! - The tour was super complete and especially the attention of the driver Olivier and the professionalism of the guide Chris!! The boy was a book about plants and animals, he knows a lot and we learned a lot from him, in addition to being kind and attentive at all times! The tour was the best we could choose in La Fortuna! To highlight the hanging bridges and the waterfall, and the ending in hot springs was a 10 to end a spectacular day!! Ohh and I forgot about lunch, everything was also super delicious!

A wonderful and very intense day - Full day activity. RedLava's infrastructure, perfect. First, a walk through hanging bridges and tropical forest, beautifully enlivened and guided by Yulian. We didn't see any volcano due to impenetrable fog. Simple but delicious food to regain strength in a very clean restaurant with good service. Very beautiful La Fortuna Waterfall, very refreshing but dangerous bath (currents, risk of falls). The staircase (500 steps) is very well maintained. With patience it goes up and down without problems. The hot springs, a relaxing end to the day, with a shot included. Intense activity but highly recommended.

Fun, low-key adventure - We had a great experience with our guides Raul, Sergio & Winston. The ability to take the tourist bus from place to place eliminated our worries of driving and parking various places. We began at the La Fortuna waterfall which is an easy walk up and down well maintained staircases. Winston gave us a lot of information about the rainforest flora and fauna and Raul helped generate a very positive, excited, relaxed, Pura Vida environment. We spent time at the different viewpoints of the waterfall, our guides and others on the tour helped with photos, and we were given plenty of time to swim in the base of the waterfall where it pools before flowing into the river. You will want to wear a bathing suit and clothes you can easily get on and off for this excursion, just to make the most of your time. They did make time for changing in the restrooms but I felt it was easier if you had a swimsuit under your clothes. The second part was a hike to the highest point you can go safely on the Arenal volcano. It was an easy enough hike - we did it in hiking sandals but you may prefer closed toe shoes as it it rocky and there are tree roots. We went at an easy pace, learning again about various plants. We did not see any mammals that day but some interesting bugs. At the top of the hike if a field of lava rock from the 1968 eruption and gorgeous views of the jungle and Lake Arenal. At the end of the hike there was an option to use the rope swing into the volcano made lake and swim there as well. Then we were provided a lunch of comida tipico, casados, that were made by a local family. The last stop was the auguas termales - a natural river of hot springs. Again, not worrying about the parking was fantastic. We were given about 45 minutes to explore the area and relax in the water. Plus Raul and Sergio helped all of us put on a mud mask of volcanic mud. The entire experience was equal parts enjoying the company of others and relaxed intimate conversation with my husband. At the end the bus driver quickly delivered everyone to the places they were picked up. Overall a fun, comprehensive tour of several of the things La Fortuna has to offer. If you are an avid hiker, you'll find the hike easy. If you are more of a gentle nature hike kind of person, it is a bit challenging, steep in places, but never near a cliff, definitely doable at the pace the group goes. I recommend a deet based repellent but we were not swarmed with mosquitos even though it was rainy season.
