Perfect Private Tour - Our tour guide, Jose David Santoir, taught us so much about Kyoto!! There were 6 of us and we were able to experience more than I thought we could in a day. We used the metro to go to the sites. Jose took us to the popular sites that we had requested and the quiet sites we did not know about-my favorite was the gardens! We did a lot of walking and saw more in this one day that we saw our full trip! Highly recommend this tour and Jose!

Great experience, strongly recommend - Peter was great, showing us around which we could have never managed on our own in one day. He told us its history and background at six different places, and it was very informative. We are senior citizen and were very glad to have a private guide taking us around on our own pace. It felt as if we had a friend taking us around. Strongly recommend!

Loved the whole experience! - Jose David, our guide, immediately made what could have felt overwhelming into a wonderful experience. He took our pace in stride and showed us Kyoto’s amazing temples, shrines and gates. He knows the Japanese history very well and answered all of our questions. He showed us and explained to us the detail of Japanese culture we would have missed on our own. He’s a must for a very enjoyable day! A memory worth the value!

What a wonderful experience! - Jose made an impression right away picking us up in our hotel lobby. He went beyond showing us Kyoto’s amazing Shrines, Temples and Gates. He knows his history and was eager to share his knowledge answering all our questions. We feel like we made a unique friend today! Thank you

Beautiful city of Kyoto - Jose was an amazing guide as he took us on our journey through the beautiful city of Kyoto. Highlights include kinkakuji, eating at local Japanese pancake restaurant, and walking through pontocho alley. We were able to see quite a bit as he quickly navigated us through the Tran and bus system. Would highly recommend!

High Energy Power Tour - Our guide, Jose was very engaging. Took us to many sites in a relatively short period of time. Was very knowledgeable about the city itself but also the various aspects of Japanese life, religion, ceremonies, etc. Would highly recommend if in Kyoto for a short period of time as we were

Great tour group - The guides, Javier and Juan are fabulous! Well planned tours, did 4 tours, here in Kyoto and each one was different. We learned so much, had a lot of fun and learned secret paths to avoid crowds. Well worth it. Professional, experienced, vast knowledge of Japanese culture and history.

Please be sure to verify who will be your guide before accepting. If it's the guide Hendrix, reject him if possible. - During my visit to Kyoto, I had a terrible experience with the guide Hendrix. He arrives stinking, appears to be under the influence of drugs, and to top it all off, he tries to scam you out of money. Plus, he doesn't even have a license to practice! The whole time he was looking at different girls and video calling someone on his phone. Although we paid for his services, he ignored us and insisted on taking us to eat at a ramen restaurant very far from where we were. We visited the area around Kiyomizu-dera, and he insisted on taking us to eat near Kyoto Station, which was very strange. I think he did this because he receives commission from that restaurant if he brings customers. Avoid this guide at all costs.
