Ms - We had a delightful tour with Yuki. Her English was excellent and she had a great knowledge of all the local food products many of which we sampled and enjoyed. We would recommend her to anyone wanting to have an authentic Japanese food experience. The food market was one of the highlights of our trip. Many thanks Lyn,George and Rob.

Awesome and fun! - What a night! Our guide Andrea was amazing. He was so funny and very knowledgeable about Japanese culture and area. He took us where locals hangout and we ate and drink. We learned about Gion area and geisha district. It was wonderful night! Highly recommended and Andrea, thank you for a wonderful guide. My son told me it was the best tour so far in Japan.

Great tour of Nishiki market and other local food specialty stores - Fantastic tour of a Japanese grocery store, the basement food court of Daimaru department store, a few local specialty food stores, and a walk through Nishiki market. Momo was full of information and great suggestions, and I had a taste of some fantastic food. The curry bun and sashimi at Nishiki market were my favorites. Thank you again to Momo and Cooking Sun!

The beating heart of Kyoto - Great communication from the provider followed up by our guide Aiko who sprinkled us with interesting details around the food habits, history and culture of Kyoto all with a smile that the rain did not dampen. We had delicious snacks and tastes, be bold and try the things on offer, the kelp and rice was amazing, as were the delicious Hiro beef skewers, melt in your mouth! So glad to have had this opportunity to dive into the detail of this city. Thankyou Sun Cooking

Tasty and fun local market tour - We started at the food level of a department store with is a food heaven. Western mixed with local varieties of all kinds. Then our guide Yukari was so full of info and insights and shared her own favorites of home cocking. Along the walk we tasted local snacks until we couldn’t any more! We had such a wonderful morning.

Kyoto cooking class - Such a great experience. The market walk was fun and informative. We learnt so much about the flavours and foods available. Back to the Cooking Sun studio to make our lunch. We made tempura and all the steps were clear. Especially loved the information about dashi. Food was delicious and recipes provided.

Not very memorable - Interesting food but no real guidance on how much we could enjoy. Very much on a timetable. Didn't seem worth it.

Super sweet host but not worth it. - Our guide was really lovely and caring. Given this, her English was limited. This tour was not worth the price. Our first visit was to a supermarket that's visited by locals, something I could have googled myself and was not explicitly stated in the tour description. We did not get any historical explanations of what was eaten or the any of the sites we passed. For over $200+ this Was very expensive to visit super markets and buying small items of food along the way. All the foods that were purchased was simply not worth the price. I could have taken the train to the market and ordered the foods on my own. Again, the tour guide was very generous and nice. We enjoyed her company more.
