No experience needed. So much fun. - Brilliant experience, lovely teacher and team. Total karate kid taster for uninitiated. Genuine not polished plastic version. Located out of the way, so let google maps get you there.

Taking a break from the busy city in a Kendo dojo. - Being introduced to the art of Kendo in such a peaceful and pleasant environment on the outskirts of Kyoto was truly a wonderful experience; and an excellent to escape the crowds in the city. Even with near to no knowledge of the matter at all, the professional hosts and kendōka laid out the basics of the sport und offered an understanding to the underlying culture in a very inviting and light spirited manner. Of course staged photos with dressing up and spectacular sword scenes were an essential part of the action. But a part from that you really got to dive into a different world in the atmosphere of an old Japanese dojo with many a story to tell. For me this is definitely a highly recommended activity, totally worth the time and the money.
