Our next stop is the impressive Tofukuji Temple after which we’ll take a coffee break at a cherished local cafe. As our journey continues, we’ll make our way along the Kamo River and head towards the UNESCO-designated Ginkakuji Temple. Post-Ginkakuji, we’ll leisurely navigate down the well-known Path of Philosophy which leads to the Nanzenji Temple’s spectacular gardens, ornate religious buildings, and a fascinating red brick aqueduct. Following a sit-down lunch (included), the last section of our tour will lead us along the Shirakawa Canal, weaving through the streets of Gion district, until we reach Higashi Honganji Temple’s gates and eventually circle back to our starting point.

Made a new friend and saw Kyoto as a bonus - Jay was an amazing guide through East Kyoto. We saw so much more than we would have ever been able to on our own. Great pacing, very knowledgeable about local history and culture. The shrines were beautiful, as you would expect, but riding through the smaller streets and neighborhoods was also a treat. Really enjoyed the coffee and lunch breaks at local spots.

E bike tour of Kyoto - Biking with Juan through Kyoto was a major highlight of our trip. He is a wealth of knowledge in regards to history, culture, and foods. We loved all of our Kyoto sightseeing stops and would highly recommend!

A perfect introduction to Kyoto - Had a great time. Jaime was excellent. e-Bikes were good and fit for purpose. We were unlucky to get some un-forecasted rain but pressed on hoping it would clear. Got a little wet so that detracted a bit from the fun. Still would have wanted to do it knowing how wet we got though so glad it wasn't cancelled. A great way to look around Kyoto.

Kyōto e-bike tour - Had a fantastic day riding around eastern Kyoto with Juan. He was very knowledgeable and we had a lot of fun. Visited some quieter places, some busy ones, stopped for coffee and had a great ramen for lunch. Would recommend this tour in addition to the full day tour which I did the day before. I’m a cyclist but the e-bikes make this tour accessible for people that couldn’t normally ride this distance.

Like being taken around by an old friend ... a warm, friendly guide who wanted to to love his city - We spent the whole day biking around East Kyoto with Juan (who moved from San Diego to Kyoto 25+ years ago). Juan was an excellent tour guide in every aspect including safety and his knowledge of Kyoto historical sites and neighborhoods, and history. He also customized the tour to fit our needs as there was only 4 of us on the tour. He also took us to his favorite coffee shop (would not have found this by ourselves) and bustling ramen restaurant for lunch (which we would not have gotten seated so quickly if not for Juan's connections). Honestly it felt like we were being taken around by an old friend!

Bike tour around East Kyōto - Fantastic tour. Juan out tour guide was absolutely brilliant, great sense of humour, fantastic explanation throughout on so many levels. Only four on our tour, the couple we biked with were so easy to get along with. Stopped for coffee in such a quaint place.. try the Apple Ginger Tea.. so good. Lunch awesome little noodle place. The temples we saw, interesting history attached to each one. Well worth taking this all day trip.
