Highlights
  • Makhuntseti Waterwall - One of the biggest waterfall in Georgia. The fall is always full with water and it’s super impressive for visitors.
  • Stone Arch Bridge of Makhuntseti - The bridge was build in 14th century on river Acharistskali and still has the same shape as 7 centuries ago. In summer children jump from there to the river.
  • Machakhela Gorge - We drive through Matchakhela river gorge that is full with waterfalls and evergreen forest. We stop at the waterfalls for pictures.
  • Mirveti Waterfall - A small waterfall that is lost in a deep Adjaream mountains and villages. We walk through the village and find it in the beginnig of the river.
  • Zeda Chkhutuneti - For the lunch we visit a local family restaurant in the mountains of Matchakhela valley. They provide wide variety of the local food and homemade wine. Also, they perform a folklore show for us.

Additional Information

We start at 08:00 from our office in Kutaisi. We have a quick stop in Batumi and drive to the mountains of Adjara. We’re heading to Makhuntseti where we try to escape from the heat of Batumi. The first stop is the water reservoir of river Adjaristskali. Then we are heading to Makhuntsety waterfall which is one of the highest waterfalls in Georgia. Afterward, we go down to King Tamar’s bridge which was built in the 14th century. The next stop is Mirveti waterfall to achieve it we have to cross the hanged bridge and walk through the village. For lunch, we visited a local family restaurant in the mountains of Matchakhela Valley. They provide a wide variety of local food and homemade wine. Also, they perform a folklore show for us. Once the party is over we come back to Kutaisi by 20:00.

Kutaisi and Batumi trip - The experience was fantastic and our tour guide was helpful and kind. You must definitely book your tour at Budget Georgia when you plan to visit Kutaisi and its neighbouring places.
