Your guide will be waiting outside the entrance of Central Market (Pasar Seni), in Chinatown. It is located nearby to Petaling Street. To travel by taxi, we recommend downloading the Grab app. You can also get to the meeting point via the MRT subway, arriving at the station Pasar Seni.

A One-of-a-Kind KL Food Adventure with Kash - As a solo traveller, I didn’t know what to expect when I booked the Laksa Lanes food tour — but it turned out to be one of the absolute highlights of my trip to Kuala Lumpur. It ended up being just me on the tour, which meant I had an entirely personalised food and culture journey led by the incredible Kash.
Kash is a legend. He’s warm, passionate, and has that rare ability to weave history, culture, and food into one captivating story. As we wandered through hidden corners of KL, he not only introduced me to unforgettable dishes but also painted a vivid picture of the city’s heritage, communities, and culinary traditions.
The food? Simply unforgettable. We kicked off with a rich, comforting clam noodle soup, followed by a perfectly flaky and steaming hot baked pork bun. A silky tofu snack in coconut milk and palm sugar was heavenly. I tried not one but two types of laksa — each with its own depth of flavour — and indulged in a warm Portuguese-style custard tart. Chicken rice was served with a side of local pride, while peanut-covered rice balls and crispy pancakes packed with peanut, followed by fruit added a nutty crunch. Every bite was a reminder of why KL is a food lover’s paradise.
By the end, I was full, happy, and deeply appreciative of Kash’s knowledge, humour, and generosity. This wasn’t just a food tour — it was an immersive, delicious journey through the beating heart of Kuala Lumpur. What a time to be alive!

Laksa Lanes is a wonderful must-do activity in Kuala Lumpur. - The best way to discover a city is always through food and Laksa Lanes did not disappoint. From the hustle and bustle of Chinatown to the winding lanes around it, we were able to understand, from our wonderful host Kiran, the richness and the great heritage of food culture in Malaysia. Kiran was very professional, insightful and full of stories that made the tour very enjoyable.

Super highly recommended! - Kiran was a terrific guide. She showed me many places i wonder never have discovered, and all were vegetarian (my choice) Kiran noticed my interest in sewing and we went to an amazing button shop and watched master tsilors working in tiny stores.

A truly special culinary experience - We took the lunchtime tour and it was great. It wasn’t a busy day, so in the end it was only my husband and I and we had our lovely tour guide (Siddoz) all to ourselves. He was very knowledgeable and told us about much more than just food, including history and cultural insights. It was a unique experience and the food was truly excellent, especially the curry laksa! Thanks again :)

A must do into Malaysian cuisine and food culture - Stephen was a wealth of knowledge not only about the food but also the culture and history of the city and country. It was an excellent way of an introduction in Malaysian food's.

Delicious way to try Malaysian food - I enjoyed trying all the food around Chinatown. The Lala Noodles and Asam Laksa were my favorites, but everything was good. So much flavour! It was nice to taste and learn about many dishes as well as the area.
The walking tour was hot, weather wise, but we took several breaks in the shade, inside, and the guide ensured we had cool beverages throughout the tour.
Sam, my guide, was friendly and knowledgeable.

One day in KL and this was a perfect way to spend it. The variety of food was great and the guide was very knowledgable teaching us about the history of KL.

Great !! - Uncle Sam took us around this morning… easy meeting place at the main front door of the Central market .
Great tour ( tiring in the heat). Sam was great catering to all food requirements. We tried SO MANY things that I could never remember them all. Great explanations about everything.. AND Sam bought my daughter a lovely cake for her birthday… lovely thing to do.
Do I recommend??? Oh yes
