Pause for a savory meal at a local eatery, indulging in authentic Cambodian cuisine such as curry, soups, or stir-fries, before proceeding to the remote Koh Ker. Known today as Koh Ker, this city was once referred to as Lingapura, or ‘city of lingams,’ in ancient inscriptions. The complex’s crown jewel is the Prasat Thom/Prang, a unique double sanctuary arranged in a straight line rather than the concentric layouts typical of Khmer temples. The site’s centerpiece is a 36-meter tall, seven-tiered pyramid that likely functioned as the empire’s state temple.

Conclude your tour with a visit to Beng Mealea, a temple that mirrors the grandeur of Angkor Wat, albeit on a smaller scale.
