Delightful day in the countryside and on the lake. - The time spent with Nak was delightful. We started at the hotel, drove to the town where he grew up. Walked through the village and explored the market. We arrived at the boat and went out onto the lake. He told us the history of the area and conveyed stories about growing up there. We vehicle was clean and well stocked with cool towels and water. We really enjoyed our time. Great experience.

This is a great way to... - This is a great way to explore Siem Reap area beyond the beaten track. Even though I went in dry season which means that the village is not really floating (I was aware of that), I had a great time. I think it’s super interesting to see what it looks like when there is no water and imagine how the life of locals is when they cannot walk but can only sail. We also stopped by a local market and explored the daily life of khmers (no souvenirs, no touristy staff, just dried fish, fresh chicken and fruits and veggies). The lake also impressed me by its size. I did not realize it would be this big. I love the how locals established little floating coffee shops in the middle of the lake. The one I went to also had a crocodile farm and I got to see little baby crocodiles along with lots of crocodile sculls 🙂 My guide Sophy was amazing. He told me about the daily life of khmers, their ways of living, shared his personal stories and answered any questions. The driver Mr. Tho I was skilled as a driver and very courteous. They were both great which I really appreciated as a solo female traveler going to a Khmer village. They even had cold towels for refreshment after each stop! Highly recommended for a cultural immersion.

Great experience with Sorphea despite dry season - I was hesitant to book this trip because it was during the dry season but Sorphea was a great guide and driver Thnou made things seamless. We stopped at a local market on the way and got to see a lot of the local foods before continuing on to Kampong Phluk, where we got a good taste of how the town operates in the rainy and dry seasons. The trip was topped off with a boat tour out to Tonle Sap complete with crocodile, fish, and other wildlife. Would highly recommend!

Great day at Kampong Phlouk - Had a great day at Kampong Phlouk. It was an authentic cultural experience visiting the community. Learnt about the community education, challenges in relation to water levels bring down due to dams and impact on fishing economy. My guide and driver were both great. Provided lots of care and attention as well as sharing local community.

Perfect for the rainy season! - This tour is definitely one not to miss during the wet season. We went on this tour mid May and it hadn’t quite rained enough for the full impression of life the lake in stilt houses. Nonetheless, the tour gave a good idea of what it might be like when the water is high and the vast open endless views on the lake were absolutely incredible. Samun was accommodating and informative on the tour and gave us options to walk through the village to the boat instead of driving, so we could take it all in.
