Highlights
  • Bamboo Rice (Battambang Traditional Style) - Rice Noodle Making:
Not all rice noodles are alike—Khmer rice noodles are distinct from rice noodles in neighboring countries! Khmer noodles are made from a unique rice grain with a special texture. It is commonly served in a cold soup made of Cambodian herbs and flavors, unlike anything else. At the rice noodle factory, you will learn about Cambodia’s special rice noodle tradition.

Bamboo Sticky Rice Cake:
Our next stop is a local manufacturer of rice cakes, which are made from bamboo sticky rice. Your guide will explain the process of making the bamboo rice cake, and you will also have a chance to try it.

Samrong Knong Wat :
This is a really beautiful memorial to the 10,000 people who lost their lives at the hands of the Khmer Rouge in the Battambang area. Definitely worth a visit; it doesn’t take long to see, but you could stay for as long as you like.

Discover Battambang country handcraft specialities by bike - Great experience. Last minute booking, we met our guide Reed at the hotel and went to get the bike by tuktuk. From that point we rode to each stop of discovering the local product and temple to get explanations, to ask questions, to taste the local product, and to experience the processing. A real human exchange to connect to Cambodian and to understand better of their life style. Biking is the best to see and appreciate the environment, to listen all the natural sound. Thank you to our guide, our middle man, who kindly took care of us and response our curiosity.

Amazing!! - Sambath is such a fantastic tour guide. His in depth knowledge of the countries history as well as his local knowledge of the villages makes for a really interesting tour. You are totally off the beaten track and get to experience the amazing hospitality and friendliness of the real cambodian people. You learn how they make their living and get to sample some local treats. We loved our trip so much we booked another with Sambath tomorrow. I think this is a must do tour when in Battambang. We were very lucky it was kust us and him, and he is more than happy to share jokes and knowledge with you.

fietstour in en rond Battambang - We very much enjoyed our cycling tour in and around Battambang with Sambath (half day). He picked us up at our hotel and brought good bikes and helmets (safe cycling). We saw local life and visited several places where we could see how rice noodles are made, rice paper (with tasting of spring rolls), bamboo-rice, fish paste (interesting :-)). We were invited to slice our own bananas for drying en tasted dried mango, banana, etc. and even had a zip of rice wine with cobra. Our 3 teenagers as well as we really liked this tour and Sambath is the best 'host', who really cares and has a lot of interesting information!

Excellent bike tour in Battambang - We had an amazing time with our guide Sambath and his photografer. Sambath was very friendly and quickly to answer our request to go on a bike tour. The bikes were in good condition and the tour was in flat terrain in a manageable pace. We went to visit the locals making handcrafted products such as rice paper, fish sauce and pots etc. Sambath did a good job telling us about the different work and answering our questions. The locals were smiling and very kind and especially the kids wants to say hallo and are adorable. On our tour we tasted local snacks and tried to make banana chips, which was a funny experience. We took the tour because we wanted to get out of the city and see the Cambodian countryside and we were defiantly not disappointed. Sambath did very good to keep us from the main road and instead using the dirt back roads as high quality mountain bikes are intended for. We will definitely recommend this tour to others and if we had more time in Battambang, we would book a new tour with Sambath.

A friendly and authentic day! - If usually I'm not very fan of tourist tour, this day was very nice! the hot weather wasn't a big problem, because we have made a lot of stop for meeting people and visiting some place. Actually, ride à bike was nice, even for a non sportiv woman ;)! we have see the country side and it was a new way to discover culture and country. Our guide was very kind and very sincere, taking real time with us sfor sharing about his culture and also adapt his tour with our interest. It was a real and friendly meeting, not a "too much" tourist attraction. Our guide was very smart and speaking english and french, and was very concern about sharing his knowledge on an authentic way. And he know also special places without too much people and local place! In brief, a very nice day!

Awesome day out with Sambath! - We had an amazing time in Battambang and its surroundings in this tour! We learned a bunch of interesting stuff as Sambath was very knowledgeable about the traditions and culture of Cambodia. He showed us some typical tourist places like the bamboo train but also some secret spots only with locals. He took good care of us all time and it was very cool driving around Battambang. Definitely recommended!

Nice tour, but keep in mind it might be different from what you booked - Overall, the tour was okay. We cycled around on mountain bikes, but the saddle was quite hard. So keep that in mind. We saw lots of interesting sights. However, we did not do the tour as stated here on TripAdvisor. We did not really go to rural areas and we also didn't go to the bamboo train. We did go to the bamboo with rice snack place, ricepaper place and banana place. We still had a really nice tour, but it was different from what we booked. So keep that in mind. If you book this for the experience as stated above, just know it can be different. Our guide did speak English well and the stops we did make were very nice.
