Zakopane - Visiting Zakopane is a great opportunity to get to know the wooden architecture of the Podhale highlanders, as well as see beautiful Zakopane-style villas, inspired by the folklore of this region. In the vicinity of the famous Krupówki promenade in Zakopane, there is the magnificent building of the Tatra Museum devoted to the mountains.
You can also find many churches and monasteries in Zakopane. However, most pilgrims go to the sanctuary of Our Lady of Fatima in Krzeptówki, closely related to John Paul II.
Using the funicular, we will go to the top of Gubałówka (1120 m above sea level). This picturesque mountain ridge emerges from the north of Zakopane, on the opposite side of the Giewont peak. We will also try what the famous highland sheep cheese “oscypek” tastes like. - Cmentarz Zasluzonych na Peksowym Brzyzku - We will visit the charming cemetery in Zakopane. Most of the tombstones here are richly decorated works of art made of wood, stone and metal. During the 1800s, Zakopane was a tranquil hamlet occupied by the Mountain People. Their years of solitude had bred a unique culture. This place, with its unique charm and raw beauty, was discovered by Dr Tytus Chałubiński. He began recommending it to his patients, extolling the virtues of its natural gifts. In no time, it became a favourite retreat for artists and high society, where they could relax, produce artwork and engage in romances… Today, the city attracts numerous tourists. Yet many bemoan the “trashy appearance” of modern Zakopane, seeking tradition instead. For this reason, we aim to present our visitors with the face of Zakopane, hailed as the “winter capital of Poland”, and its surrounds that still reflect a bygone charm and the allure of unaffected nature.
