Upon entry, engage in a deep and touching encounter. Learn about the estimated 1.5 million individuals who were transported to these camps by the Nazi regime and subsequently lost their lives during World War II. Established in 1947, this memorial was honored as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1979, recognized for its significant narrative.
- Baby carriages and luggage larger then 30 x 20 x 10cm are not permitted inside the museum
- Condition of visiting Museum is to have an identity card (ID or Passport)
- Pick-up for this tour can be between 5:30AM and 3:00PM (with the possibility of earlier or later times), so be prepared for possible changes. It is recommended to reserve a full day for this tour. The time provided in the booking and your voucher (9:30AM) is the most common time provided by the museum and does not depend on the local operator. The exact pick-up time will be confirmed by customer service or the driver on the day before the tour.
- Tour confrmation: The day before the trip, by 6:00 PM, you will receive a confrmation or cancellation of the trip via SMS or Whatsapp. The message will include information regarding the time and place of pickup. Bear in mind - a tour may be cancelled if no guide is assigned to us. In this case, we execute the cancellation with a 100% refund.

Must see - Very very poignant and tough to see, but a must do in life so we never forget how terrible things can get and hopefully how far we’ve come.

A must do when in Krakow... - A must do when in Krakow and the tour guide was very knowledgeable. This is a harrowing experience but very much worthwhile.

Absolutely Wonderful! - This was an amazing experience. Our driver was wonderful and informative. The tour guide was absolutely perfect. Asking questions to make you think about what we were seeing. We skipped the lines, got in quick. Extremely organized.

Excellent tour, with incredibly impactful stories. - Although our pick up time changed (06:15am) this actually worked out for the best as we then had the rest of the day to spend exploring Krakow. Peter picked us up from the hotel, on time, and drove us and a few others to Auschwitz where we met up with a larger group. He already had our tickets, which is especially important as many tours seem not to pre-book the tickets for their group leaving people to queue from 5am to get access to the sites. We met up with Artur - a polish speaking guide - and Maya, who was our translator. Together they have us a really good tour through Auschwitz. Unfortunately we didn't get chance to see in every building, but they showed us a lot of them. The stops between each little bit of talking felt just the right length of time, and everything was explained clearly and in detail. If anyone had questions, these were answered too. Once we had finished in Auschwitz, we gathered as a group onto a larger bus which transported us to Birkenau. This was a shorter tour, delivered by the same guides, but was just as poignant and informative. Maya linked the sites we moved through, to some of the pictures that were on display on Auschwitz, which made everything so much more tangible. We would have loved to spend longer in both sites, but this was an extremely informative tour and I think it would be impossible to cover everything.
Once we finished, Peter collected us back in his minibus and transported us back to Krakow and dropped people off. He even dropped us at a different spot to where we were picked up as we wanted to explore a bit more.
Overall an excellent, well ran tour, and we are very happy with it and would recommend this tour to everyone.
We would like to especially point out how good Maya was. She was clear, thorough, and incredibly respectful of the sites. We had time to reflect at each places, and also I loved how she commented on the fact that unfortunately previous visitors had vandalised some of the barracks at Birkenau (carving their names into the walls). Such a sad site to see, and we cannot understand how people could be so disrespectful.

The most important Tour you will ever make. - Need to be fit and have stamina. Lots of stairs and steps, many without handrails.
Overall experience was an insightful and chilling reminder of what Humans are capable of. We had an excellent Tour Guide who told us the process of the people from arriving at the Camp to being gassed.

Poorly organised with little communication. - While the trip to Auschwitz-Birkenau itself was well organised and very educational, the organisation from Thousand Miles was terrible. We booked the trip to be picked up from our hotel at 9.30 AM. At 10 the evening before we were contacted in our hotel and told we would be picked up at 5.55AM, with no option for a refund.
We received no communication ahead of the trip telling us we’d need our passports.
There was very little communication about the transfer from one site to another and that transfer was extremely busy, the bus was too full and we had to stand.
On the return trip we were not returned to our hotel as advised on the ticket.
I would urge anybody the think twice before using this company.

Unacceptable - Informed at 1945 night before pick up time changed from 0930 to 0535with no option to cancel or get refund. Do not book this trip with this company
