  • Our Lady of the Rocks - First stop, a 20-minute visit to the legendary island Our Lady of the Rocks. This is a man-made islet, built upon a crag that bore the icon of the Holy Mother Mary, and it houses a church that’s been built by seafarers and other locals to honor the graceful Mother Mary. It is a place where visitors can listen to the mystical story about the island’s genesis, as well as examine the many paintings, votives, and other art pieces inside the museum, attached to the church.
  • Tivat Municipality - After we pass through the strait of Verige, we enter Tivat Bay and enjoy in its breath-taking views.

On our way, we are stopping at the ex-submarine military base which description we’ll leave up to you.

  • Mamula Fortress - The very exit of the Bay of Kotor is guarded by the haunting Mamula, a fortified island that’s full of gruesome stories from past events like World War I & II.
  • Blue Grotto - The whole adventure gets wrapped up with a nice dip inside the Blue Cave, a natural phenomenon that’s been created by waves crashing for thousands of years at the Lustice peninsula.

The name derives from the whole ambiance, created by iridescent lightning that manifests itself on the water due to the Sun’s radiance through small cave cracks.

Wonderful afternoon on the water - My husband and I had a lovely, interesting, fun afternoon on this trip! The scenery is even more breathtaking from the water than it is from the shore. We were not prepared for the beauty of Our Lady of the Rocks church, which is incredibly well-preserved for an open-air building sitting in the middle of a bay. We were sorry that there wasn't more info available about the church's painted wooden interior and its artwork, but the little museum is definitely worth visiting. The Blue Cave is very beautiful, and we enjoyed swimming around inside and talking with passengers from other boats. Our captain was competent and safe, provided good commentary about what we were seeing, and didn't rush us through the tour. Tips: The boat dock is easy to find following the instructions they provide. Bring your own towels, as they are not provided. We knew that, but forgot ours, and one of the local boat owners was kind enough to lend us a towel. There are no changing/toilet facilities at the dock (and no head on the boat), but the local "mall" with restrooms is only a three-minute walk away. There is also a toilet available on the church's tiny island. HIGHLY recommend this excursion!

Great tour of Kotor Bay - Kotor is a lovely town and well worth visiting but the best sites are seen by water - our private tour showed us all of the sites - the submarine tunnels, the Blue Cave, Prerast and a visit to Our Lady of the Rocks while letting us keep our own schedule and timing. We went through the cave and could pick to swim in or out of the cave- the water is really that blue! We thoroughly enjoyed our time in the boat!
