Highlights
  • We embark on a journey to witness the stunning vistas of Kotor Bay and ascend Lovćen Mountain via the renowned Old Austro-Hungarian road from 1884. The road boasts 25 hairpin turns, each propelling us to greater heights and panoramic views.

  • Post the awe-inspiring Kotor Bay, our Grand Montenegro tour proceeds across the slopes of Mt. Lovćen to the most celebrated village in Montenegro, Njeguši. It’s the cradle of the region’s finest prosciutto (smoked ham).

On our journey, we traverse past numerous authentic Montenegrin stone houses that date back over 300 years. Expect to see cows and goats wandering, resting, frolicking, or even disrupting traffic in the surrounding fields and gradients.

By about 09.30 am, all should be prepared for a brief breakfast/snack at Montenegro’s oldest restaurant, inaugurated in 1881.

Prior to indulging in a meal, your guide will offer you a complimentary shot of the traditional RAKIJA (potent local brandy), just a little something to kick-start your day.

  • Following a brief recess and delectable local cuisine, we’re geared up to resume our Grand Montenegro tour towards Lovćen’s peaks. To conquer this ‘Rocky Sea,’ we’ll navigate through Lovćen National Park to arrive at the famed Lake Peak, situated at an elevation of 1,660 meters.

  • The world’s tallest mausoleum, housing the renowned Montenegrin ruler and poet Petar II Petrović Njegoš, resides atop Lovćen’s second tallest and majestic peak.

  • During the guided walking tour, you will be shown the major monuments notable for their aesthetic appeal and historical significance - Monastery of Cetinje, King Nikola’s Palace, Court Church at Ćipur, and Biljarda (the residence of Peter II Petrović Njegoš). Here, we enter to observe the concrete relief of Montenegro erected by the Austro-Hungarian army during WWI.

  • Our journey continues towards the Crnojević River for awe-inspiring photography, a picturesque boat ride, and a well-deserved lunch break!

We are about to embark on our scenic boat ride. With the Crnojević River flowing into Lake Skadar, we’ll experience similar rich greenery, water lilies, and diverse birdlife as though we were present at the lake.

  • One of the major attractions on Budva’s Riviera is Sveti Stefan. The former fishing hamlet turned luxurious hotel-resort 50 years ago, situated on a peninsula, is off-limits to non-guests.

We have just enough time to admire the island’s beauty and capture it in a photograph.
