Excellent tour, lovely to explore an island. - This was an excellent tour, good communication about hotel pick up time.. Lovely to visit Nysiros town which is quaint and pretty.. Plenty of cats to welcome you.. The 130 steps to the monastery arn't that difficult.. and the square for lunch was delightful.. The Greek tour guide spoke good English though her innunciation did cause slight difficulty understanding some of the things she was telling you about the island, however, we understood where we had to be and when.. which was the important bit..

Loved it! - We had a lovely time! Picked up near our hotel. Everything was organised and our tour guide, Martha was amazing! Nisyros was stunning and the volcano magical! Definitely recommend proper walking shoes/trainers for the volcano.

So much more to this trip than the volcano 👏👏 - A great tour. The tour guide was great and friendly. The tour visits the volcano, which was interesting but also the capital of that island and a small village, which sits high above the volcano. Locals are friendly, and the food at the restaurant is very authentic Greek. Lovely day out and worth the money.

Great day out! - We booked this and it was half the cost of the holiday operators tour and was the exact same. Martha was a great guide and gave us lots of information. The volcano was €5 each to enter and was cash only. The walk up and down is a little steep but anyone with a decent level of fitness will find this ok. Then we had time in the main village. We ate at a recommended restaurant and it was lovely, maybe had an half hour too long here but it was a beautiful place to explore

A super day out :) - A bit of a long day for the kids with the travel to and from Nisyros, especially with the heat but all in all a fun and very interesting day out! You don’t get very long at the crater (45mins) but Mandraki town is a delight, make sure you walk all the way to the monestary end. Helpful tour guides :)

Long but wonderful day visiting a volcano - Had a lovely day on this volcano tour and would recommend. Very well organised, we were messaged the day before to confirm pick up times and location. The bus was on time and air conditioned. You then have a bit of a drive around kos picking up other passengers from their hotels too before heading to the port. By 9.30 we were all aboard and it sailed straight away on the island we had plenty of free time. The town is small but pretty. We enjoyed wondering and a drink and calamari in a taverna. The guide was good at remembering everyone and we met to go on the coach up to the volcano. It’s a beautiful drive up and the guide was very informative. The crater is just that, there’s not much to do. For anyone with mobility difficulty you could observe from a platform. We went down which was a steep slope but fine for kids. In all we had 40 minute there which was enough. The trip back is long - coach, boat, coach, but it can’t be avoided.

I saw a real volcano - Collected on time from road near our hotel, good communication on pick up point, watsapp’d a picture. Put on a different boat than on my ticket, but can’t say if it was a better or worse one? We were given our free time on arrival, walked to a taverna they obviously want you to use, but that’s business and it was lovely, the whole island is very quaint Greek, lots of shops for presents etc but no hard sell, you just want to support. Then a coach to the volcano and mountain. My 6 year old got grit wind in her face at the Crater so it was game over for us going down, but even without it’s huge and you can take it all in from the viewpoint Well organised and ensured we were all on the correct coaches etc.

Fun but not restful - Fun but not restful. Hotel pickup on time. One hour journey in a full bus to port of Kardimena. Big crowds there and lots of shrieking from guides trying to organise masses of people from different buses (we got put on a different boat from the one on our ticket). Pleasant one hour boat trip to Nisyros then 15 minute walk with a crowd of people to the town square. Guides decent and friendly but with strong accents and not always easy to understand. Nice to have a couple of hours to explore the town and monastery in peace and to have lunch. Full bus up through nice wooded hills to the volcanic site, an hour there, interesting but very sulphurous smell. Rest of day doing the journey in reverse: bus back to Nisyros port, one hour ferry back to Kardimena and then one hour bus to hotel. Good value and we're glad we did it, but you need to be happy in a crowd.

Much wasted time - Picked up by Viator with a spare parts dispenser bus, air conditioning broken, floor lovingly attached with parcel tape. Driven to Kardamena with 52 other people, so small, very intimate group. Sailed to Mandraki with a full ship. Those who liked could look at a monastery or eat ice cream. At its core, however, we killed three hours, so we circled Mandraki on foot. Then by bus in a spectacular panoramic trip to the caldera, the Stefanocrater, the actual destination. Interresting without question, mighty smelly and yellow-colored. Nice. We don’t understand the hype, of the hundreds of guests every day, some will feel the same as us. Nothing more than an organized stimulus plan for Nisyros...
