Wonderful immersion tour of the real Calcutta way of life - I loved this fascinating tour led by Manjit, greatly deepened my appreciation of this amazing city. We met people living their daily lives, having breakfast at their local backstreet haunt, running their businesses and tasted local chai, chickpea biscuits and fruit cake all freshly made by their vendors. We also visited a beautiful old synagogue.

Excellent Tour - This is an excellent way to explore and learn about this not so talked about side of the city. Walking through these neighborhoods and listening to the history and stories by Manjit was delightful. Tasting the different kinds of fresh food was cherry on top. Enjoyed every bit of it.

Thanks Manjit! - A fantastic tour with a knowledgeable tour guide. Bring a camera and come hungry. Manjit helped history of the area come to life and gave us access to places and people we would otherwise not have met.

Food & Cultural Tour of Calcutta - It was my first time visiting Calcutta and decided to do a walking tour with Calcutta Photo Tours and absolutely loved it. Manjit made the tour super fun and showed us the cultural diversity that resides in central Calcutta. It was just not a walking tour but more of a food & walking tour 😁. We tried a bunch of local street food, which were delicious. Would absolutely do another tour with them when I visit Calcutta again and would highly recommend them for your next tour.

Outstanding way to explore Kolkata - This was an excellent half-day tour and one of the highlights of my time in Kolkata. We explored the fascinating area of Bow Barracks, walking through neighborhoods that felt like a living tapestry of the city’s history, from Chinatown to Christian quarters, Austrian influences, temples, and synagogues. You really get to see the incredible mix of cultures that have settled in Kolkata over the years. As a New Yorker, I was struck by how genuinely cosmopolitan it felt, in the best way — and it completely challenged my expectations of India. The snacks along the way were a wonderful touch and allowed us to literally taste the different cultures and stories that make up the city. My guide, Manjit, was kind, incredibly knowledgeable, and genuinely fun to spend the day with. By the end of the tour, he felt more like a friend than a guide, which is rare and special. As a solo female traveler, feeling safe and comfortable in a new country is extremely important to me, and Manjit created that sense of ease from the very beginning. I can’t recommend this tour highly enough, it’s thoughtful, engaging, and offers a deep, human look at Kolkata that you simply wouldn’t get on your own.

Not to be missed - Do this tour if you need a little hope for a world where people of different cultures and religions live peacefully together. Manjit is a great guide that wove in some historical facts and food (way to my heart). Would definitely recommend this tour to anyone visiting Kolkata.

Exceptional in every way - Manjit was a pure delight in every way. But much more importantly - he brought his encyclopedic knowledge & professional photographic skills and made the tour shine with rich cultural history, nuanced local anecdotes for each site and a passion so that it was a full experience. Each question was answered in a full way with geopolitical significance combined with the love the locals have for him so photo clicking is welcomed & encouraged at their stalls. I walked away thinking - “this is precisely why I travel: to learn, record and laugh.” He’s also a lot of in to be with! I came away with a story for every photo. Thanks Manjit!

Highly recommend calcuttaphototours - We were a group of students from Denmark who went on the tour with our guide Manjit. Not only was the trip eventful and educational, Manjit was an amazing guide and just a wonderful person overall. He helped us with getting both water and food and clearly knew his way around town and many of the people we met on our way. He is a very joyful guide and taught us a lot of amazing stuff about Calcutta. Not even that, he even helped us with our school projects. I highly recommend this tour for anyone who is interested in Calcutta as a whole, and especially in the people who live there.

Calcutta Kaleidoscope Tour - It's a rare treat to be able to see the old with a fresh pair of eyes. Despite being from Kolkata, there's so much about its history and culture that's alien to me. Manjit's photowalk tour was so refreshing precisely because it made the familiar and banal interesting again. The kaleidoscope tour is a brilliant, well curated walk that resolutely lives up to its name. Manjit is funny, warm, brilliant and so knowledgeable about the city, its people and rhythms. There's so much you'll learn about the city as you walk and eat your way through this tour. It will delight you and move you and leave your more curious than when you started. Can't recommend it enough!
