11/10 would recommend for people visiting Kobe or Kyoto. - This tour was the highlight of our time in Kobe. Hiro, our guide, was incredibly knowledgeable, considerate, and fun. We had a really fantastic time on the tour and learned a lot about sake in Japan’s most fast famous sake-producing prefecture. 11/10 would recommend, especially because of Hiro!

UNIQUE - Unforgettable Sake Tour with Aki – Highly Recommended! We had the absolute pleasure of joining a private sake tour with Aki, and it was truly fantastic! From the very beginning, Aki welcomed us with warmth and kindness. She took us to five different sake breweries, where we were able to try three types of sake at each stop – a great variety that showcased the unique flavors and styles of each brewery. Aki explained the differences between the sakes in a clear and engaging way, and she also took the time to walk us through the entire brewing process. She answered all of our questions in detail – not just about sake, but also about life in Japan in general, which made the tour even more enriching. We took a lovely break by the river with some snacks, which was a really nice and relaxing moment in between tastings. At each brewery, we had plenty of time to look around, take photos, and even purchase bottles if we wanted. Aki made it easy for us to revisit any of the breweries later during the tour if we had second thoughts about buying something – super flexible and thoughtful! One special touch we really appreciated: Aki took lots of great photos of us throughout the day and sent them to us via email the next day. It was such a nice gesture and gave us beautiful memories to keep. The tour was just the three of us – Aki and the two of us – which made it feel very personal, relaxed, and enjoyable. Overall, it was an amazing experience, and we would 100% recommend it to anyone interested in learning more about sake in a fun, friendly, and authentic way. Aki is a wonderful guide, and this tour was a highlight of our trip!

Visit the Kobe Kampai Sake Tasting Tour! - The tour was exceptional. Hiro demonstrated extensive knowledge about sake, thoroughly explaining the process—from the polishing of the rice to its fermentation with koji and yeast to produce this refined traditional beverage. A visit to a local tofu shop was a delightful addition, as was the insightful introduction to Shinto customs, including the shimenawa, a sacred straw rope used to ward off ancient spirits. We also learned about the history and lasting impact of the Great Hanshin Earthquake, particularly how it influenced the region's infrastructure and even aspects of sake production. Overall, this was a truly enriching experience—10/10. Highly recommended for anyone interested in the cultural and historical background of sake.

Hiro is our hero! - Hiro was awesome as a tour guide. We had a great time and learned far more than we expected to. Only thing we would change would be to reverse the order. Do the 3 breweries, tofu shop, then last brewery.
