Outstanding tour - Our guide Sato was outstanding. She is very knowledgeable, her English was excellent and she was very helpful to us. We truly enjoyed our time with her and would highly recommend her to others. She went above and beyond what was asked of her. And she was a delight to be with.

Fantastic guide and tour - Sato was an outstanding guide. She is very knowledgeable about the history of the city, gave us fascinating information about everything that we saw, was very flexible in shaping the tour to our interests, and even helped us find a wonderful restaurant for lunch. She was incredible thoughtful, sharing fruit from her garden and even shopped for something that I needed from a pharmacy, and dropped it off at our hotel. She is a very kind and lovely person.

A diverse, thorough intro to Kurashiki, a lovely village with interesting history from ancient to modern - Sato-san is a very knowledgeable and friendly guide who was happy not only to take us through Kurashiki but also give us a variety of lessons about Japanese history, culture and geography. She is a thorough expert of Kurashiki and took us to the shrine and warehouse area including its industrial museum. There is also an impressionist art museum that has an interesting back-story — we were too late to go there, but art lovers would enjoy seeing its collection.

A informative and leisurely walk in the Bikan Historical Quarter - A leisurely and informative walking tour of Kurashiki. Our guide Sato brought the history of the Bikan quarter to life with stories of some of the key figures, with a visit to a historical house, the international hotel, a great story about masking tape and more.

Great customized tour! Sato-san was very knowledgeable, enthusiastic and eager to accommodate us. Highly recommend! - Even before our tour day, Sato-san began communicating with us to find out more about our interests to customize our half-day tour together. She then offered to meet us in our hotel lobby when we were uncertain of train usage to meet her in Kurashiki. She was knowledgeable and enthusiastic and brought maps with her to explain history, geography, and context. Although not initially interested in the Ohara Museum, we were glad she encouraged us to visit: it was a treasure trove of Western art and an amazing curated collection of art while also showing artist Kojima’s stylistic evolution. After our time together, she recommended we eat udon at Furuichi Bukkekan, a local noodle specialty. Delicious! We highly recommend Sato-san and would hire her again for any future trips in the area including Naoshima.

Thoughtful guide and lovely experience - Our guide Yoshiko Sato-san is so thoughtful and kind! I shared with her our schedule arriving at Kurashiki and leaving Kurashiki and she helped me looking up the train and ferry schedule. She even went out of her way to pick us up at Okayama. My friend and I wanted to wear a yukata while we toured Kurashiki - Yoshiko-san was so nice to join us to pick out our yukata, gave us advice on what looked nice, and she waited for 2 hours for us while we got dressed. Kurashiki is a lovely place! We were very pleasantly surprised by the Ohara museum and the architecture. We liked how it wasn’t overly crowded. Yoshiko-san is very knowledgeable about the area and I learned a lot. Although it was a hot summer day, we really enjoyed the tour and having Yoshiko-san as our guide made it extra special :)
