Highlights
- Knysna Heads - The Knysna Heads is our passage to sea. We travel through them and out into the ocean. Depending on the day we will take you to the various caves and coves that skirt the headlands.
- Knysna Lagoon - The Knysna Lagoon is a big part of our tour. We travel through it to proceed out into the ocean and come back into our moorings at Thesen Island Marina. Passengers can admire the beauty of the Knysna estuary and its surroundings from the boat as we cross the estuary.

Experience a breathtaking 90-minute scenic boat ride that traverses the Knysna Lagoon and sails through the Knysna Heads, unveiling the secluded nooks, caverns, and broad bays of our contrasting and stunning shoreline. With the guidance of a local, skilled leader, you will get an opportunity to witness the geological features and biological diversity of Knysna’s estuary and oceanic surroundings. Your group, composed of no more than 25 individuals, often encounters aquatic life during this journey. Select from one of three scheduled departure times at the time of your reservation.
- Due to the nature of this tour and the safety of all guests, the tour operator reserves the right to refuse service to passengers who are intoxicated or show signs of intoxication. If, as a result, your tour is canceled, you will not be entitled to a refund.
- All trips subject to sea and weather conditions
- Minimum numbers apply. There is a possibility of cancellation after confirmation - minimum number of passengers required due to vessel operating weight requirement.
- Children are considered a passenger and have a seat allocation.
- Marine mammals are free roaming and wild, sightings of any kind are not guaranteed therefore we do not offer refunds for no sightings-

Lovely experience - We saw humpback dolphins and a few seals. Crew were lovely and the boat ride was fun. The wakes are quite big and the boat goes quite fast so it’s quite bumpy but we really enjoyed it. My 4yo son was a little scared at times but he loved the experience overall.

Much more than what we expected - With Ashley our deck captain and Johannes our Skipper, we took on this experience to explore the ocean beyond the Knysna heads. We saw the immense power of the ocean having carved out deep caves into the rocks, and the whale fin-shaped rock towering as if a natural statue amidst the gushing waves. Shortly into our exciting haphazard approach of the higher waves, Ashley spotted a whale. Much to everyone's surprise, upon following this huge giant, we learnt about their "footprints" in the water, and could assist in spotting another smaller creature. This time it turned out to be the whale's calf. Johannes' skill to see and follow them both,whilst pointing out the seals and even a hammerhead shark, was remarkable. We made a turnaround at Buffalo Bay from where we could again appreciate the beautiful coastline, and then heading back to the jetty, carefully navigating through the treacherous rocks at the Heads. This was an unforgettable experience and we'll be certain to return again soon.

Enjoyed tye whole trip and the sightings - We saw 10 of the endangered dolphins. It was a rare sighting . The viewi g of the Heads from the boat was much better. The tour guide was very knowledgeable

Great tour of the ocean with experienced and friendly staff - Great staff, great adventure. We had a perfect tour of the ocean in the morning. A bit of a bumpy ride, which added to the experience.

Our Honymoon - We had the best time.We saw 5 or 6 Brydal Whales.Our Guide Johannes was very entertaining. We can't wait to go back to Knysna to do it again.Thank you Odyssey

Awesome day on the boat outside Knysna - We had a simply brilliant day out. We saw some whales - not many but the day was amazing. The owner picked up rubbish and cleaned up the ocean. The day was amazing!

Felt like this was really misleading - We saw 3 seals. The team were nice but it was just really disappointing. I feel like we wasted time and money for something when we were told the best time to go but initially asked to go later.

It did not happen - Thank you for sendig me the mail and ask me how it was, but the tour did not happen, because only we 2 wanted to go and its a minimum of 4.

Do not book with them. - Booked a trip. They advised me 15min prior to said trip that same is not going to proceed as they do not have enough customers to go out.
