Highlights
- Knuckles mountain treks - The Knuckles Mountain Range lies in central Sri Lanka, in the Districts of Matale and Kandy. The range takes its name from a series of recumbent folds and peaks in the west of the massif which resemble the knuckles of clenched fist when viewed from certain locations in the Kandy District.
The higher montane area is often robed in thick layers of cloud. Knuckles Conservation Forest was included in UNESCO natural world heritage list in 2010 as part of Central Highlands of Sri Lanka.
Knuckles mountain range features 34 peaks ranging in height between 1900 meters and 900 meters. Five high mountain peaks of the range having formed in the shape of a clenched fist, the British in Ceylon named the mountain range Knuckles.

Waterfall hike - This hike was definitely a highlight of our trip. Niro is a great guide who knows a lot about the area and plants, so it’s not just about the beautiful views. We did a beautiful waterfall hike and even swimmed in one of them. Thank you Niro for this wonderful experience!

Overall great experience! - We initially booked the 20 km adventure peak climb. Due to the high temperature at the time (30°C), We asked to change to the waterfall trek two days in advance. This was no problem at all, so great flexibility! The hike turned out to be in a great and diverse landscape. A must do when you are in Kandy.
Niro was very knowledgeable and helpful. He spoke perfect English and had a good sense of humour - a bit like having a friend along for the hike. The whole practical side was very well taken care of (transportation, lunch, etc...). He was also very helpful during the hike. This helped to make the hike very doable, despite us not being extremely fit. For your information: we are in our early 30's, do hikes from time to time, but usually not with high elevation or warm weather.

Amazing guide! - Niro was an incredible guide. I took on the second highest peak in Sri Lanka within Knuckles Mountain Range and wouldn’t have been able to complete it without Niros guidance and knowledge of the landscape. He insured my safety was paramount and despite the rain, his incredible anti-leech concoction worked a miracle, not one leech! He explained rare plants, animals and stories along the way and made the hike very enjoyable. As a solo traveller, I felt completely at ease with him and with his amazing experience of the jungle - we completed the peak successfully. I highly recommend him as a guide to anyone.

Awesome hiking tour with experienced guide - We would highly recommend this hiking tour with Niro.
We felt safe the whole way, he took care of us very well and showed us the way we definitly wouldnt find by our selfs.
On the way you can choose between a 20 km hike to peek, or a 13 km hike to two waterfalls. We choose the 13 km (way there and back) hike, the waterfalls were stunning even though we went in dry season. You can also swim if you want to.

Knuckle waterfalls - They picked us up in Kandy.
Niro's priority is safety!
When we arrived the first thing was oiling our feet with something against leeches.
Beautiful waterfalls and the view on the valley was amazing.
We had a great lunch at the waterfall.
Niro knows a lot about fauna and flora of the knuckle forest!
Very helpful by climbing and descending on the steep hills.

Day trek to Knuckles waterfalls - We had an excellent experience with Niro trekking to the Knuckles waterfalls! Niro is a great guide, very knowledgeable of the area and was very conscientious of our safety as it was raining and quite slippery that day. Overall we had a great day and highly recommend Niro as a guide!

Great amazing experience - The trekking tour with Niro was a great amazing experience. The 20km long tour through the Knuckles Forest, across the jungle to the highest point was exciting, challenging and unique. Niro showed us native plants and animals. We had a great day and can highly recommend the tour.

Fantastic day trekking in the knuckles range - Fantastic day trek!! Niro is a very kind, thoughtful and experienced guide. He was very knowledgeable about the Knuckles region and very well prepared. He provided creams and spray for the leeches, meaning we got no bites on the trek and he also provided a nutritious packed lunch which we happily devoured at the summit. Would highly recommend a Knuckles trek with Niro :)

Wonderful day!! - My sister and I had an amazing hike yesterday in the Knuckles Mountain range!
Niro was our guide. He is a very gently soul, funny and clearly experienced in what he does. He goes above and beyond to help you get up and down the mountain in a safe fashion. Before the hike even started, Niro demonstrated his care for us by stopping at a hospital to get my wrist the medical care it needed from an injury the day before we met.
I recommend this tour to all nature & fitness lovers. The view is absolutely breathtaking. Those who enjoy a physical challenge will love this one! You’ll also be given a rice/chicken lunch box, fruit and snacks along the way!
