An Unmissable Tour - An unmissable tour. Katarina was so enthusiastic, deeply knowledgable and kind. We really appreciated the information and stories she presented about the rich past of Crete and the Minoan Civilization. Being at Knossos really surprised me and was truly one of the most special places I've ever visited, but a great guide is essential here. Going into the second part of the tour we felt we couldn't get any better -- Ary was so knowledgable about Heraklion and it's more recent past and truly took us to some great spots all over the city. One of the best tours I've ever taken.

Wonderful time travel to the Ancient Minoan civilization  - Thanks to Akrivi we had a fantastic time visiting both the Heraklion Archaeological Museum and the Knossos palace. Akrivi waved together the history and mythology, explained in detail all aspects of Minoan civilization and made us to travel back in time, to learn and appreciate the achievements of Minoans, the first Mediterranean civilization. It is totally worth to book both tours together , otherwise you will be missing the complete picture.Especially if you are a small group/family you should not miss this tour; it is not just a tour it is time travel !

Historical Accuracy Appreciated - My guide (Joanna) was a breath of fresh air. From start to finish her presentation of ancient and historical information admist the backdrop of artifacts and ruins made for a truly enjoyable experience. She was easy to talk to and even though you knew you might not be as educated, she was very courteous. I imagine that it must get tiresome with repeat tours keeping the energy up but Joanna never made it seem that way. The best guide for one of my favorite sites.

The best ever tour guide. - Joanna Glyptis was our tour guide. Rather than following typical protocol of providing historical facts she offered her own view on the history of humanity from a different prospective. I was afraid to miss a single word from her presentation. We highly recommend her for open minded and independently thinking people. We travel a lot and we have learned that guides of this level of professionalism are almost nonexistent.

Amazing value for the money - One of the highlights from our two-week vacation in Greece. In fact, our tour of Knossos and the Archeological Museum was such an enlightening excursion that we asked to schedule another private tour on the following day of nearby Phaestos. Both tours gave us amazing value for the price. Why a guide? Knowledge about the Minoan sites and their significance to ancient Greece is incomplete, and guidebooks can be misleading. Our wonderfully, entertaining and scholarly guide, Joanna, shared up-to-date facts, as well as theories, about the sites (and their surrounding geography) based on the latest archaeological and anthropological scholarship. Our time exploring Minoan culture and artifacts was unforgettable - thanks to our guide. Booking through Viator was easy. The tour operator, Foniadakis Travel Center, also great to work with.

A tour that days later still has me thinking - This tour was phenomenal. Johanna didn't simply walk us through the Knossos site and the museum, she walked us through history, anthropology, and sociology, while highlighting the impact of cultural bias on assumptions and interpretation. It was education, not simply relaying information, and days later, and I am actively researching elements of the history, philosophy and interpretation of what she exposed us to. The city tour was a fun added element (and we were shown where to go for great Mezze later that night!).

Great Tours - Johanna was an excellent guide and I enjoyed her erudite explanations and the links she made from our morning visit to Knossos to the exhibits in the museum. I highly recommend this tour.

Tour through museum and palace - We booked our tour through our hotel last minute. We were slightly anxious at being able to book so last minute in the height of tourist season - what kind of guide would be left.... However, we need not have worried. We had the highly knowledgeable, passionate and lovely Christianna. She brought her thorough knowledge to bring Minoan Times to life. She guided us through the museum and palace with ease answering a multitude of questions from my husband with patience and kindness. I would highly recommend taking a guide to see these sites. Definitely choose These guides! One of the most informative guides we’ve ever had. Thank you again, Christianna.

Tourist attraction long on queues and short on quality - Went to visit and was pretty disappointed. Long lines, poor maintenance and a real lack of quality explanations. They like to complain about the misinterpretation of the guy who discovered it but haven't done anything to really improve it.
