Olive oil museum/fortress - The fortress is fascinating and really helped me understand Croatian history better. But I made the mistake of walking to the olive oil museum from there in the heat. I was very sick when I got there- nausea, dizzy, etc. Dragica and Pina took such wonderful care of me to make sure I was recovered. After their help, I took the tour and found it fascinating and educational. The store was fabulous also.

A wonderful olive experience! - The olive oil museum is amazing! Beautiful botanical gardens full of herbs and flowers, an educational museum and a gift shop to beat all gift shops. I usually give gift shops a miss, but the opportunity to taste local goods infused with all sorts of flavour before purchase was too good to miss. Don't miss this if you are in Split!

Definitely worth the trip - Went to Stella Croatia the first day and have a great time learning the process of olive oil making and the history of it in the region. The castle we went to on the second day and Klis was awesome! Awesome view of the city from so far up.

Well worth the stop! - We toured the fortress and enjoyed it. The views of Split from here were awesome. We happened to notice a sign for the olive museum, then found out we should have been given tickets to it when we went to the fortress. No matter, just glad we found the olive museum. Our host there pointed out all they had done, and it was incredible. There is a restaurant in the loveliest setting but unfortunately we had just eaten elsewhere so had to pass on dining there, too bad. The botanical garden was well marked and maintained, and the museum itself very well done. A lot of love and hard work went into this complex. And of course, the gift shop, which allowed numerous tasting opportunities--I wish TSA would lighten up and let us take bottles of the liquid onto the plane. There are labs onsite not open to the public, but you get the sense that this is serious business for them, as it should be. I'm so glad we spotted the sign along the road; otherwise we would have missed this great stop. Keep up the good work!

Exciting and great views - The Olive Museum offers an exciting overview of the discovery and production of olive oil in Croatia. There is a guided tour that does not take very long. The guide could have taken a little more time here, but absolutely fine for the price. In the end, locally produced products can be bought at fair prices. The fortress offers a beautiful view over the region. The climb was absolutely worth it. Otherwise it was much too hot for us at 37 degrees to visit the fort in detail.

Fortress yes. Musuem you can skip - Great fortress and an amazing view Please do not walk between the two venues. On over half of the distance it is a busy road with no sideway. The museum you are rushed through to get to their store.
