Must do in Crete! - We had the pleasure of spending two days with Sakis while in Crete for our honeymoon - first for the Balos and Falassarna tour and then the Preveli, Kourtaliotiko Gorge, and Kalypso beach tour. Sakis was a very friendly and knowledgeable host, and we really enjoyed getting to know him and his son. They let us customize our tour and decide how much time we spent at each destination - we never felt rushed. As mentioned in other reviews, they made a few additional stops each day as well. Balos beach is one the most beautiful, unique beaches we've ever seen. We would not have been able to get there without Sakis as the road leading to the beach is a difficult drive. Falassarna was full of beach bars and had the cleanest, clearest water we have ever swam in. Can't recommend Crete Wanderer enough!

Unforgettable Day in Crete with a Warm and Welcoming Local Team - We had an amazing experience on this full-day private tour to Balos Lagoon and Falassarna! The island is incredibly beautiful and full of fascinating places. We were traveling with teenagers of different ages, and they all absolutely loved it — which says a lot!
Our local guide and his mum, who was also the driver, were incredibly kind, friendly, and helpful throughout the day. They made us feel very welcome and took great care of everyone.
We had plenty of time to explore Balos and Falassarna, and even managed to visit a few extra sights along the way. We ended the day with a refreshing swim at the stunning Falassarna beach — a perfect finish to a perfect day.
Highly recommended for families, especially if you’re looking for a mix of adventure, nature, and warm local hospitality. One of the highlights of our trip!

THE BEST TOUR ON CRETE! - Our day exploring Balos and Falasarna with Sakis was absolutely unforgettable. Both beaches were breathtaking—Balos with its stunning turquoise waters and wild landscape, and Falasarna with its golden sand and crystal-clear sea. Sakis was an incredible guide: knowledgeable, funny, and clearly passionate about Crete. He didn’t just take us from point A to B; he made jokes, shared local insights, and even brought us to a few extra hidden spots along the way that made the day feel really special. We also had the chance to enjoy a delicious meal at a traditional taverna with some of the best local food we’ve ever had. Everything about the tour was well-paced, relaxed, and thoughtfully put together. Couldn’t recommend it more!

We had a wonderful day at... - We had a wonderful day at the beach. Sakis and Jordan knew just where to take us for the best views while also giving us discretion of how much learning we wanted to do during car time. They also were adaptable - when we said we wanted to eat earlier than planned they took us to a great Greek restaurant with a view.
All in all this was one of the best excursions we did on our cruise!

Best guides for Balos! - My sister and I agreed this was one of the best days of our whole vacation! Not only were we provided with a great tour of Balos and Falasarna, but we also made a couple extra stops to a honey factory and a small church. Our guides were very knowledgeable and friendly. We felt so well taken care of. 10 out of 10 experience we would highly recommend to anyone!

Beautiful Balos! - Beautiful beaches. Spent most of our time at Balos. Wonderful views and amazing look at nature in Crete! So many goats/sheep! Amazing walk/trek to the lagoon. Definitely wear tennis shoes/Tevas/Chaco/etc… (no flip flops)!
Be prepared for the hike back! Water was cold but here in late Apri!
Excellent lunch at Gramboussa! Amazing Cretan food!
Falasarna Beach was also beautiful with cold water but amazing waves!
All in all a great experience!

Wonderful tour of Balos and nearby - Absolutely wonderful tour. Our guide Sakis was amazing. He went above and beyond, taking us to an amazing resturant for lunch and making an extra stop to show us some historical places.

A Wonderful Day Out with Leonidas - We were picked up in a comfortable private minivan, and our guide Leonidas truly made the experience special. He was incredibly warm, friendly, and went out of his way to ensure we had a great time. The excursion was well-organized and enjoyable from start to finish—highly recommended!
