Highlights

KILIMANJARO

Mount Kilimanjaro - In the morning you are picked up at 8am from your hotel and drive to Machame gate to collect your permits. There is then an hour drive to the Umbwe gate where after checking in you set off up through the forest zone. The first day hiking is not overly difficult but certainly steepens towards the latter end of the day. In the late afternoon you arrive in the first camp for dinner and overnight

KILIMANJARO

Kilimanjaro National Park - The second day ascends from the forest zone into the heath zone and there are some very steep sections here. Taking it easy is essential to allow your body to acclimatise. A picnic lunch is taken on route and then in the afternoon you arrive into Barranco camp in time to relax for a while before dinner. The views of the Barranco wall and Western breach pertain to events some 60,000 years ago when this whole part of the mountain collapsed. Dinner and overnight Barranco Camp

KILIMANJARO

Kilimanjaro National Park - From Barranco camp, famous for its’ giant groundsels (Senecio species), you ascend the Barranco wall and hike glacial valleys to Karanga camp. Today is a relatively short day hiking and lunch is taken at Karanga camp. In the afternoon a walk can be taken with your guides for great views of the Southern walls of Kibo and deep glacial valleys. Overnight Karanga Camp

ILIMANJARO

Kilimanjaro National Park - Today is another half day ascending to Barafu camp. Once again lunch is taken in camp allowing plenty of time to relax before the summit bid. Desolate apline desert and at times strong winds rip over this camp and yet in the evening slendid views of Mawenzi peak are the norm. A relatively early dinner is taken before heading to rest for the evening. Overnight Barafu Camp

KILIMANJARO

Kilimanjaro National Park - Most people depart just before midnight for the final summit bid. Patience and persistence is the name of game to reach the summit and by dawn as the first rays of light start to appear, most arrive near the rim. Ascending via Stella Point affords a realtively short final section to Uhuru peak, the Roof of Africa! What goes up must come down and your goal today is to reach Mweka camp. Overnight Mweka Camp

Arusha

Arusha - After breakfast you decend once again through montane forest and around mid day after saying farewell to your crew, you are picked up and transfer back to your hotel for a well deserved shower!

Once in a lifetime experience - I recently visited East Africa on a business school trip, and decided to climb Kilimanjaro with a friend. We were referred to Paul through another friend and could not be happier with how it turned out. Paul and his team of legends were absolutely first class in helping to organise and execute the trip. He arranged accomodation in Arusha (a nearby city) and a driver to get around prior to the hike. Then throughout the 6 day hike the whole team were amazing. The porters were essential in helping us get the essentials up and down the mountain, and the chef prepared some super tasty meals to keep our energy up. Both Paul and his assistant guide Lagos were professional, but also had a great humour and made the experience enjoyable even on summit night. 10/10 would recommend! One of the most memorable trips of my life.

Great Work by Paul and the team - This was a well managed operation. Good quality tents. Guides - Paul, Stanley, Isaac, Cosmos, Freddie (i can't remember everyone) - all excellent. Very helpful and professional management of the entire guide and porter team. Even in trying conditions - snow storms, rains etc - the lads still had the tent up and a meal ready. Highly recommended.

Climbing Killi in comfort - Climbing Mount Kilimanjaro is not a decision you make lighty and once made I assume for most, like me, your head is filled with thoughts of trepidation. I recetly completed the trekk with Paul and his team (Stanly, Fred, Isaac, Coleman, Cosmos and so many more) and I can honestly say that I have never enjoyed an adventure experience like this before. Everyone and I mean everyone was fantastically friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. The food was great, the facilities were perfect and the attention to the safety of the group and myself as an individual was spot on - I felt safe and informed about the trip from the first camp through sumit day and then down again. Thanks for a fantastic time guys I know I will remebver you for a long time and will always be recommending you.

amazing experience ! Paul's staff is very nice and pleasant. It was a very special adventure - The organization of the trip was very good and pleasant. Paul was available for any of our requests before the trip, and also during the trip. We got to know the team and the feeling was very good and pleasant throughout the climb up the mountain. Paul helped us a lot to manage to climb and reach the top. Very professional staff, very pleasant and sensitive. The tent, food and equipment were great! For a fee, Paul took care of sleeping bags and a coat for us which were not at the level we expected, and it would have been better to rent this equipment ourselves. In our opinion, the trip was more expensive than we had planned and from what other travelers told us, in addition the staff pushed for us to end the trip a day before even though we had already paid them for the extra day and we did not receive a refund not even for lodging at the place we arrived on the night we were supposed to witness the trip. That caused a bit of an unpleasant feeling at the end of the trip.
