- Volcanoes National Park - Day 2 kicks off with an early pick-up for the Gorilla trekking adventure. Head to the Volcanoes National Park headquarters for a briefing and group allocation. Embark on the most thrilling and exhilarating trek. Once the gorillas are located, spend an hour with them in their natural habitat, observing them play, feed, and interact with their family group. Trek back to base and enjoy a relaxing afternoon.
- Volcanoes National Park - Start the day with an early golden monkey trekking experience in the Volcanoes National Park. Once located, spend an hour interacting with them, witnessing their behavior up close. Afterwards, have lunch and set off on a scenic drive to Akagera National Park. Upon arrival, enjoy a sunset boat tour on Lake Ihema, where you can spot animals like hippopotamuses, crocodiles, various birds, and elephants or antelopes frequenting the shores. You will then be transferred to your accommodation inside the park.
- Akagera National Park - Begin day 4 with an early game drive to explore the park’s stunning landscapes for nearly a full day, allowing ample time to observe various animal species, including the Big Five: lions, elephants, buffaloes, leopards, and rhinos. After the game drive, you will be transferred back to Kigali for an overnight stay.
- Kigali - Day 5 starts with a visit to the Kigali Genocide Memorial, providing insight into Rwanda’s 1994 genocide history and resilience. Then, explore craft shops and Kigali’s bustling local markets, such as Kimironko Market, before lunch. Continue with a recreational visit to Fazenda Sengha, a beautiful country club located on Kigali’s tallest mountain, offering the best views of the city and activities such as horse riding, quad biking, zip-lining, or archery. Finally, head to the airport for departure.

Unforgettable 5-Day Akagera & Volcanoes National Park Adventure - We are three friends who did a 5-day trip to Akagera and Volcanoes National Parks, and it was an absolutely unforgettable experience from start to finish.
All the planning and bookings were perfectly handled by Dorah, our tour consultant. She was very responsive, organized everything smoothly, and made the whole process stress-free, from permits to accommodations. Her communication before and during the trip was excellent.
Our guide Germain was outstanding. He was knowledgeable, professional, and very friendly, and he clearly loves what he does. In Akagera National Park, he helped us spot lions, elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, hippos, crocodiles, and many other animals, and he shared interesting information throughout the game drives. The boat safari on Lake Ihema was a great highlight.
The gorilla trekking in Volcanoes National Park was truly life-changing. Germain prepared us very well before the trek and supported us the entire time, making sure we felt safe and comfortable. Being so close to mountain gorillas is an experience we will never forget.
What made the trip even more special was learning about conservation and local community involvement along the way. Everything was well timed, well organized, and exceeded our expectations.
We highly recommend both Dorah for trip planning and Germain as a guide to anyone visiting Rwanda. This trip created memories that will stay with us forever.

Unforgettable Safari Experience with Shalom Safaris! - Unforgettable Safari Experience with Shalom Safaris!
My experience with Shalom Safaris was absolutely amazing! I had the opportunity to visit Akagera National Park, where I saw incredible wildlife, including lions, zebras, white rhinos, antelopes, deer, and giraffes. Our guide, Anaclet, was extremely knowledgeable and ensured we had the best possible sightings while sharing fascinating insights about the animals and the park.
I also explored Nyungwe National Park, which was equally breathtaking. The canopy walk was a thrilling adventure, offering stunning views of the lush forest. I also had the chance to see a beautiful waterfall, playful monkeys, and the rare colobus monkeys. Our guide, Exodus, was fantastic—friendly, professional, and deeply passionate about Rwanda’s natural beauty.
From start to finish, Shalom Safaris provided seamless organization, expert guides, and an unforgettable adventure. If you're looking for a reliable tour company in Rwanda, I highly recommend them!

An Unforgettable Safari Experience with Shalom Safari - I just had the most amazing experience with Shalom Safari visiting Akagera National Park and Nyungwe National Park! Seriously, they know how to create unforgettable adventures. The scenery in Akagera was stunning, and the wildlife sightings were just incredible.
Our tour guide, Annacret, was a true highlight of the trip! He was so professional and really passionate about what he does, which made the whole experience even better. I felt like I was learning from a friend rather than just a guide. If you have a dream of experiencing safari life, especially camping by the waterfalls in Nyungwe National Park, I can't recommend Shalom Safari enough! It was a trip of a lifetime!

BEST & BEST EXPERIENCE FROM SHALOM SAFARIS - we had an exciting mix of adventure, education, and natural beauty. Highlights include hiking volcanic craters, exploring lava fields, visiting volcanic lakes or hot springs, and learning about geology from expert guides. The landscapes are breathtaking, with diverse ecosystems and surreal features like bubbling lava and ash-covered slopes. While physically demanding and weather-dependent, it offers unforgettable experiences for adventure seekers and nature lovers. High recomendation to Shalom Safaris.

Lifetime experience in Akagera - We had a great time with our guide Jean Petit. He is extremely knowledgeable and well-connected with local providers. Jean Petit truly takes care of everything: he even organized a forgotten toothbrush. 😉 He is a special expert on Akagera National Park and gave us unique encounters with the animals. We were sooo lucky.
Always friendly, on time and well-prepared we felt very comfortable and in good hands. Murakoze, Jean Petit!

A perfect tour to get a deeper knowledge of the history and the culture of Rwanda - I got an excellent insight in the history of Rwanda, esp. the colonial times and the development of the genocide
The hotel accomodation was great.
I had a very competent guide, Abou, with a high command of the English language, who also was very obliging and helpful in responding to personal interests.
I always felt absolutely safe.
I can highly recommend this Shalom tour and its guide.

An Insightful trip - Learning how the Rwandans were able to rise above the tragic genocidal event. You never know how much they went through until you visit Rwanda and learn for yourself the true history and rich culture of the Rwandans.
Rwanda has such a beautiful landscape weather you are in the city or at country side, it’s a beautiful country to visit if you are looking to just bask in nature’s wonderful architecture.
