• Volcanoes National Park Headquarters - This is an unforgettable experience that should not be missed when visiting Rwanda. Start your day early at 4:30 am and embark on a drive to the park. The journey spans 112 km to reach Volcanoes National Park in Ruhengeri, Musanze province, home to the endangered Mountain gorillas. Capture stunning photos at various stops along the way and enjoy a cup of coffee. At precisely 8:30 am, proceed to the park’s headquarters in Kinigi Village, where a ranger will brief you on the rules and regulations of Gorilla tracking. Participants are divided into groups and then venture into the forest. The trek can last from one hour to about eight, depending on the gorillas’ location the previous day. Although the hike is challenging, it is incredibly rewarding when you finally encounter the gentle mountain gorillas. They typically travel in large groups with the Silverback leading. Observe them as they go about their daily activities, such as juveniles playing, mothers feeding their young, and Silverbacks watching over their families to protect them from predators.
