Perfectly organised safari - We contacted Ian on a short notice to arrange for us a trip to Akagera. Being a last minute request, we found him to be very fast, gave us all information we needed and booked the trip. Akagera Nat park is close to Kigali, few hours drive from the capital, spent the day in the park and was amazing.

Daily trip in Akagera - Very easy going activity. Nothing to worry about. Very friendly driver and guide. We saw a lot of animals and part of the big five!

An Ok Experience - Regrettably, this review is not really a reflection on the tour company and definitely not on the guide, but it was an average experience. Akagera is similar to Etosha National Park, in that you can't go off the hard pack road, so it can be very difficult to see animals. I have been on a multitude of safaris and explored probably 20 safari parks. While I did see a couple lions, lots of giraffes, a couple rhinos, they were so far away that my 600mm lens could only muster a blur in the trees. The two best photos I could get were a zebra and a bird on the edge of the lake. Disappointing. I think if the tour was cheaper, it wouldn't be such a big deal that it's not a great park, but of course the tour company needs to make a profit.
