• Orchha - You will be collected from your hotel for a 4-hour journey to Orchha, a 15th-century town situated on the banks of the River Betwa. Upon arrival in Orchha, enjoy lunch (at your own expense) at a local restaurant before beginning your exploration.

After lunch, visit Raj Mahal, a 17th-century palace adorned with vibrant murals depicting religious themes. Next, explore Jahangir Mahal, a palace constructed in honor of the Mughal Emperor Jahangir to celebrate his visit to Orchha.

Chaturbhuj Temple is another remarkable architectural marvel, originally built to house the idols now residing in the Ram Raja Temple. Currently, it enshrines the idols of Radha-Krishna.

Another significant temple to explore is the Laxmi Narayan Temple. Its architecture is an intriguing blend of a fort and a temple, featuring exquisite, well-preserved wall murals illustrating mythological themes.

Orchha also boasts 14 cenotaphs or chhatris, located amidst beautifully landscaped gardens, serving as memorials to Orchha’s rulers.

• Jhansi - Next, proceed to Jhansi, a 30-minute drive from Orchha. Jhansi is located in the North Indian state of Uttar Pradesh and was the site of India’s first war of independence in 1857, led by its courageous Queen, Rani Laxmi Bai. Visit the Jhansi Fort and the Palace of Rani Laxmi Bai, now transformed into a museum. The Government Museum also showcases various historical artifacts, with the entire first floor dedicated to Rani Laxmi Bai.

At the conclusion of the tour, you will be driven back to your hotel in Khajuraho.
