For those seeking more adventure, a challenging walk leads down to the Sculptor’s Studio (open only during summer) and back up to the viewing terrace. The Avenue of Flags showcases all 50 states and territories, along with their respective dates of admission to the Union.
A newly opened Youth Exploration area is also available. The large gift shop offers a variety of items.
The Carvers’ Café and an ice cream shop provide refreshments, including vanilla ice cream made from Thomas Jefferson’s original recipe. Before leaving, visitors can capture a photo of George Washington’s side profile.
